Binging with Babish: Cannoli from The Godfather

"Leave the gun, take the cannoli" - is there a more iconic line spoken in Francis Ford Coppola's The Godfather? I mean, apart from almost every other line of dialogue? In a film defined by its own endless defining moments, food still manages to stand out as a memorable supporting character. I mean, it wouldn't be much of an Italian mobster film without it.

As a sicilian I can say this video is unexpectedly correct.
If you want some nonna tips:
-Ricotta must be made of sheep milk
-Put a plate and a weight on top of ricotta for maximum draining
- try to put some lemon zest and knife-cut chocolate shards in the ricotta filling
-Garnish with powdered sugar and a candied cherry/orange peel
Then you'll have Nonna Giovanna's cannoli!

I had to fly home from Pittsburgh, PA to El Paso, TX by myself as a freshman for Christmas break and I missed my flight at 2 am so I had to find a crappy hotel nearby that would drive me to the airport the next morning.
