Pro tip: It’s relatively easy to get all the eevee evolutions without the name trick. Don’t use it when you need the evolutions to level up. Use the name trick to guarantee you get the shiny evolutions.

Save the Eevee naming until Level 42 requirements. You need to evolve each one to get to the next level. Found that out the hard way. Also, save evolutions that need an item (King’s Rock for instance) as you’ll need to evolve 15 that way.

The route feature is much better now. It doesn't automatically complete when you get close to the end so you can walk right up to the end. And in my experience they spawn most of the time and always around the end of the route

with the mythical discovery, getting to certain steps grants you research for meloetta and celebi. meloetta is unlocked at stage 2 (i think) and celebi is unlocked at step 8

Zygarde doesn't evolve it just changes it form with more cells

Caution - when you are looking for a Zygarde cell and are in route be sure to "Pause" your route before you restart the game. I've lost my route and had to start over.

Didn’t know about the Eevee name trick. Ironically named mine Pyro back in the day, and came back to it after a long time and now it’s a Flareon

I think the Eevee-evolution name trick resets after a couple years. Or else they reset it when they added level 42(?) tasks. I remember using it a few years back, and then trying it for level 42 and being surprised that it worked.

But really stock up on Eevee and evolve them at random.
