The surprising lore of the Girl in Fear & Hunger.

The Girl is found in the beginning of the game locked in a cage, she seems out of place in the dark dungeons of #fearandhunger both gameplay and story wise, but she is one of the most important characters in the game. As the eldritch plot of Fear and Hunger unfolds, she plays a pivotal role. She possesses the Soul of the Ancient One, which she gained from the union of the New God Nilvan and Le'garde, the man of prophecy.

This causes the Girl to transform into the God of Fear and Hunger when brought of the Altar of Darkness within the God of the Depths and she ushers in a new age for humanity.

She was so innocent she was able to hold onto some humanity during that agonizing Eldritch transformation to try and offer some aid even in terms of just stopping what their impulse would be telling them. Massive will power right there. That really tells the power of her soul too I feel like.

The best thing about her is that the developer put an instant game over in the game if you tried to make a marriage with her. But many, many people complained about it so she now only rejects you with all of her might.

I have as a headcanon an alternative ending E where you actually managed to escape mostly unharmed with the little girl and some of the other characters and leave as a happy yet traumatized family.

I guess some people were legitimately pissed you couldn't get a marriage with the girl. This game is brutal and dark, but real people being mad that a game doesn't let you have sex with a little girl is worse tham anything this game can throw at you

I really wish her lore was expanded on as a god. Whats the limits and extent of her power? Is she truly stronger than a new god? Does she really rival the old gods? *How* did she usher in an age of technoolgy, by being active in the lives of people or by influence? Where is she during the Termina festival? Why didn't she have a larger role in the events that happened, or even a mention by her own father.

She's such an interesting character but her story is next to nonexistent. "She rises as a god and this is what she does, the end lmao." Truly heartbreaking.

I would love the game designer to explain the different stages of her transformation and what they mean. Cause I always wondered why her torso/ womb basically gets hollowed out - I get she’s the god of fear and HUNGER but it has to have some sort of significance? It feels important.
