Good video tho. Valve should have another few years left in it

Did you need to use penetrating lubricant on the Bluefin valve’s bonnet nut to get it loose? I bought one of the valves and cannot get the damn bonnet to budge! I thought it would be easy for a new valve.

Should've used Nibco. Lifetime warranty and built better. Your cheap Bluefin valves aren't even made from dezincification resistant brass.

Where can I buy that piece you put on? Can you send me the link

I noticed that the new one looks a bit different than the original. How can you tell if the new one will work correctly when you purchase it?

Could you have just exchanged the top part? The stem? I'm trying this now and can't pull the stem out but I didn't look to see if there was another nut down lower.

I have an oval handle that is perpendicular to my wall, i need it horizontal, is there any easy way to do this without replacing it to one like this?

How in the world did you get the top screw out of the handle? Mine just stops turning at a certain point. I’ve sprayed the entire faucet down from left to right top to bottom with wd40 and beyond getting the biggest nut to turn, nothing else will turn! I’ve at least managed to stop the leak by tightening that nut but my handle is broken in spots and I want to replace it. Even my hose end has corroded and glued itself to the faucet and I can’t get that to turn. What a mess 😂

If the seat on the body is bad it will still leak & why did you not change the rubber

What should I do when this thing broke inside?

Mine is dry rotted and the handles now just the screw. I'm trying to take that bolt off but it's not working. It goes so far to the left and just stops. I sprayed some WD-40 on it and it won't go any further. I don't want to strip it. I might need a whole new piece that connects on to the house. Something simple of course turned into a big pain in the ass for me. I shouldn't be surprised😅

Why not just replace the rubber flat washer for less than a dollar?

I went to three places around where I live and nobody has replacement parts. So I had to buy the whole thing.

What we just saw is not "best practice". Many homeowners get themselves in deep trouble by not using another vice or wrench to stabilize the pipe from turning on the other side of the wall. You could easily break joints, weaken or damage connections, and fittings behind the wall. This could result in leaks you may not readily see or discover until months or even years afterwards. Look closely, you can see the pipe move. That's all it takes. The resulting leak could damage joists, insulation and create serious mold problems, also affecting air quality in the home. All of this can be very costly $$$$ for most homeowners and it's easily preventable. These videos are valuble teaching aids.
