Modded C6 ZR1 vs. Stock McLaren 720S

only car i have seen beat a stock 720S was a 1250hp GTR, and that was only by a car length. they are incredibly quick. beautiful ZR1. love your straight forward way of presenting this video's. thanks again for this. so glad to be a subscriber.

I’d say it boiled down to the manual trans. As soon as he needed to shift it was all over. The 720 still would have pulled but with a dual clutch it would have been closer.

It doesn’t coming in factor so much the power to weight ratio, it’s all about dct, I believe it will take a zr1 1000 hp to make up for those second lost in every shift

The 720S as always wins but the vette did not bad considering it’s 10 years old and still a good contender to lots of new cars still.

Would need over 850-900 with a manual trans. A good race would be with Streetspeed717 and his 900whp C7 ZR1 8 speed auto trans.

In this case it's all about transmission and downforce. One should also consider that stock mclaren has usually 690 to 700whp.

It's the whole car setup -- the 720s as long as it works - is really hard to beat. That ZR1, even with a faster dual clutch would still trail behind.

Excellent car, excellent video. Please try and dyno the 720s. It will show a lot and it is a good start for your future plans. Kudos to is very capable. Regarding your question, a ZR1 needs 1000HP to be able to pass the 720s. That much to compensate the manual transmition and weight difference.

The ZR1 being manual means it needs at least 100-150hp more than a dual clutch auto car typically to be just as fast so this wasn’t a massive surprise, good race 👍

Belt driven superchargers are great for throttle response but they use a lot of horsepower to make boost that horsepower loss is converted to only one thing heat!! In the combustion chamber . Good Luck beating the 720.
