So we have decided to build a home in Germany. That’s almost customary where my husband is from. I’ll get into that more as the journey takes us closer to leaving! There are some obvious differences between the looks of the homes. How they are built is a WHOLE different discussion which we will get in to! What do you think? Oh I forgot to mention parking, some houses have no driveway or garage. Then the crazy layout we saw when we were house hunting was funny e.g. to get to one bedroom one has to go thru the bathroom🤣🤣🤣🤣

I’m South African and have been in Germany for 8yrs and the size of the houses was a shocker😮😅. Most houses are small, have only one bathroom and they always those multifamily homes. I’m still not used to this.

I miss my large kitchen, my en-suite, my large bathrooms and garden😢. However I appreciate the guest toilets that are close to the entrances.

We are looking to buy a new home but I like the idea of building however that would mean paying for mortgage and rent at the same time
