Christ is Risen!

And on April the 23rd we commemorate Saint George the Trophy Bearer.
You can watch Elder Nektarios Moulatsiotis’ interview with Sophia, a recent convert to Orthodoxy won for Christ by Saint George the Trophy Bearer.

Saint George is an amazing saint who today is fighting tirelessly for souls now, just as he did before his Martyrdom at the hands of Emperor Diocletian.

Indeed, it is truly a joyous Bright Week, and the Orthodox have so much to be emboldened by and take heart in. Christ is truly risen from the dead, we have seen the Holy Fire and we also hear countless accounts of his Saints interceding daily for the salvation of souls. Ours is truly a living Faith! God uses His saints to strengthen and protect His people and to show His love for them.

Saint George is as active fighting for souls for God today as he was at the time of Diocletian, actively winning converts among Muslims as well as showing God’s love for His faithful and the protection of His children.
There is a touching story of Saint George’s intervention that happened just a little over a year ago in which he finds an open and pure heart in a Muslim girl who he begins to appear to and teach about Our One True Faith.

And while Saint George is so active among the Faithful as well as those open to hear the Good news of the Gospel, what makes this story touching and powerful is that he entrusts to this particular young woman his own personal cross; the cross that he carved in this live and carried with him, by a special favor of Christ, into heaven.

This cross is a relic that Saint George made while still in the flesh, and the reason the saint asked God if he could have permission to bring the cross with him into heaven is because it helped him so much in life and throughout his terrible and lengthy period of martyrdom.

And now only a little over a year ago Saint George entrusted this very miracle-performing cross to this young Turkish woman who he converted to Orthodoxy, and through her story and the power of the cross which is currently traveling between monasteries around Greece working miracles, the Faith of many is being strengthened.

You can watch Sophia’s interview with Elder Nektarios on his youtube channel, it is a wonderful story.

We should learn as much as we can about this wonderful saint who takes such personal interest in each of us and what follows is an account of his life, written only a short duration after he began interceding for souls on earth from heaven.

When ever you add the chants it makes it hard to hear what the narrator is saying.

Saint George' father was a Turkish and his mother was a Palestinian. He was a monotheist and died in Syria in the 23rd of April 303 AD. He died as a martyr years before the Christian doctrine of the Trinity was adopted officially.

Saint George's belief is the same as the Muslims belief in only one true God and Jesus the son of Mary was his messenger. Jesus was born in a miracle way by the word of God: "be" and he became alive in Mary's womb and before giving birth to him. Remember, Adam our father was born with the same word: "be" from God and he became alive.
At least Jesus had one parent, but Adam had no parents at all, and yet, we don't call him son of God.
Eve, on the other hand was created from Adam's rip. Now, the demonstration of the different types of God creations is completed; God created man without parents, God creates from one single male parent, God creates from one female parent, and God creates from both parents like me and you.
