Yes it’s not just pretty, it also has many good qualities as mentioned. It doesn’t rust and it’s conductive, used in engineering applications.

But it’s not its intrinsic qualities. It’s valuable because other people think it is. History’s biggest bubble.

Humans work together when they can exchange and store value in better ways than by bartering. The people who adopted gold as money survived. We are the descendants of people who like gold because liking gold was advantageous to group survival.

My dad always said to buy gold. Never looses value and it’s how every banking system is birthed.
