If this song were a drug, it would be illegal because of the 'high' you get from listening to it.

Still guaranteed to fill a dance floor 47 years after release. Pure joy and magic = ABBA ❤

Abba is the best pop and disco group of all time, surpassing even the great Bee Gees, which for me occupy the 2nd place, another jewel of ABBA is the song Mamma Mia, has many songs that are great that did not sound so much in the USA and Latin America, but it was enough to be one of the groups with the highest record sales of all time.

"Dancing Queen" (1976)
is a beautiful song, a fantastic Masterpiece, which shines in the loftiness of its vocal harmonies
the blonde singer Agnetha is soprano voice,
the brunette singer Frida is mezzo soprano,
and blending together made the famous and fantastic 'third voice of ABBA'
And the music is bright and enveloping, from the initial chord it introduces you into the atmosphere of the disco and invites you to dance andá enjoy

English public has voted it as one of the songs they want to hear the most, because of the feeling of joy and energy it gives them
(another is "Don't stop me now" by Queen)
And in 2015 "Dancing Queen" was included in the Hall of Fame of Grammys awards music

the melody of "Dancing Queen" was inspired by the 1974 American hit "Rock you babe" by George McGree
Curiously, in 1974 ABBA rose to world fame by winning the Eurovision Song Contest in the UK with their also iconic song "Waterloo" (which reached #6 on the U.S. Billboard 200, among #1 in UK and half Europe).
these is the link of the live perfomance of ABBA at Eurovision; I suggest you to a next reaction

I hope to see more reactions to ABBA
GOD bless you

This was their only number one in the US, so you're bound to have heard it before. They had other bigger hits in the rest of the world, but this one is typically what Americans associate ABBA with. Which is why they unfairly were considered a disco outfit in America for the longest time. These days they're getting their due though.

so nice to see you for first time, with a reaction to the biggest ABBA worldwide hit

These is ABBA, the iconic Swedish pop quartet, the best, most versatile and most important of the 70s, in the post BEATLES decade (the revolutionary group of the 60s)
ABBA, as in its time BEATLES, was a musical and cultural phenomenon, and its legacy lives on

ABBA is the biggest musical act in the history of continental Europe and non-English speaking world They are the first non-English speaking group to have considerable success in major English-speaking countries And is the first group to break with the hegemony of NorthAmerican, English and Australian artists in the music market dominated by British culture.

ABBA is an acronim with the initials of their first names; initialy was two swedish couples too:
A- Agnetha (blonde lead vocal) &
B- Björn (guitarist and songwriter)
B- Benny (pianist and songwriter) &
A- Anni Frid (brunette lead vocal)
(both couples separated before the breakup of the group in 1982)

ABBA recording between 1972/1982, have a wonderful series of more than 20 worldwide hits, included nine #1 in UK:
Waterloo
Mamma Mia
Fernando
Dancing Queen
Knowing me knowing you
The name of the game
Take a chance on me
The winner takes it all
Super trouper

And after more than 35 years ABBA return to studio in 2017 and recording a full new album "Voyage" between 2017/2021 released in November 2021 and is a worldwide succes

And in last May 2022 all four ABBA members asist to the premiere of the new Voyage concerts (with avatars of Theirself) in the new ABBA Arena at London UK (another greatest success, , tickets on sale to November 2023)

The ages of all ABBA members now is
72 Agnetha Fältskog ; 76 Benny Andersson
77 Björn Ulvaeus & Anni Frid (Frida)

I hope to see more reactions to ABBA
GOD bless you

ABBA was from Sweden. This song was their only No. 1 hit in the US. Love this song. Makes me want 😩 to get up and dance! Released in 1976.

Tambourine is the only instrument that rhymes with queen.

Thanks, Ratty! 🪩 I see you reacted their most successful song first. ෴ The reason a tambourine was the girl's manner of keeping tempo is because she wasn't in a band, she was on the dancefloor. A tambourine was the only instrument she could carry around. ෴ Have you heard of the movie MURIEL'S WEDDING (1994)? It's a strange one about a girl from a dysfunctional family who acts out, gets into trouble... but eventually finds a friend and learns some valuable life lessons. She also happens to *love* ABBA songs... and she listens to them when she's feeling lowest. It happens to be one of my all-time favorites. I hope you'll give it a shot, someday. When it's not being oddly profound, it's also pretty funny.

Hi there, First time to watch your channel. Are you USA based?Cause here in Europe Abba is massively familiar to every Generation not to mention their success in Australia/Latin America/South Africa. This is a legendary song from a huge pop music phenomenon.Abba is considered 2nd best selling band of all times in recorded music only topped by the Beatles with an estimation of over 400 million records sold.Nice of you to 'mess' with them.Hope to see you some next time.

... a great worldwide hit, and ABBA's ONLY #1 hit in the USA. For some reason, at the time, the USA did not embrace ABBA as much as they do now. They had a lot of songs hit the Billboard Hot 100 over the span of 1974 to 1982, but "Dancing Queen" was definitely their biggest here and the one most people most remember!!!

To me the tamborine had been almost romanticized if you will, by the flower children of the sixties. The guitar and tamborine where great intruments for traveling to use around a camp fire. That sort of status for the instrument though, was fading out by this time. Lots of hit songs from that time (late 60s early 70s) mentioned the instrument.

Unfortunately you had turned the volume down from the video. I always loved ABBA, I was a teenager in the late 70's. xx

Even after so many decades this song is a standard serotonin booster.I'm rather surprised though that you ain't that familiar with the song/band since you kinda said that your sister, parents might be more relevant with this.I guess you are South American or smth.Abba wasn't that massive there compared to the rest of the world but huge almost elsewhere. This song/band consist a great part in music culture and is known to people of all ages and of course in todays youngsters all over the globe. They still are big deal.Pop royalty, Legacy band.
