I'll try to answer some of the most common questions that came from my original UMC22 review.

Hey Folks, I think I solved the problem of the quiet instrument 2 port on the UMC22. There is a setting in Windows that let's you both turn up the sample rate to higher quality AND set it up for two channels. Cheers mates.

I have this model for recording chanting. I use it with Elementary OS which is a Linux Ubuntu derivative. No drivers to install and it works right out of the box. I use with Ardour Daw. Seems to work well for the price and I won't know the difference. My big mistake was getting a condenser microphone instead of a sure Sm58. They don't work in tropical environments.

I have been using the UMC22 for a while with no issues to mention. I am a beginner so I am not pushing the unit. It has actually been fun. Thanks for the reviews.

I like to mic my amps with the SM57 instead of using an instrument cable directly into an amp sim. I don't know why, but I'm a bigger fan of recording my Metal tracks like that.

In the minute 12:49 the red and white cables are 2 Rca or 2 Trs? How do you connected that to the monitors?

alot of the problems with latency, crackling sounds and interference come from the improper setup of the usb.. usb drivers, usb controller, interfering usb peripherals/ devices.. windows settings etc etc... always good to try out different usb ports, unplugging all the other devices.. and trying to keep the usb controller you end up using to be free from other devices.. also not mentioning that some people do have issues with usb 3.0 vs usb 2.0 and vice versa... so just make sure you find the best usb port first and go from there... this is in all honesty not necessarily an issue regarding behringer..

If I put it on direct monitoring, can I hear the backing track as well? If so, how can I hear both of them at the same time?

Can I connect a dynamic mic to the second inst input??? I know it is a instrument input but i just wanted to know can I connect an xlr to quarter inch cable to the second channel so I get two mics for recording?

I got a new mic and it came with a XLR to 6.35 quarter inch cable and I am having the same issue. I can't hear myself at all, in reaper there is a tiny signal and when I record i have crank my volume to almost 100% and the quality is extremely bad. I will try a XLR to XLR cable.

got one yesterday. I installed the ASIO4ALL drivers, windows 10. I'm trying to connect my guitar to record with Cakewalk and I get no signal in the DAW. The UMC22 unit has the power light on, I get a signal light when I play, and if I turn on the volume the clipping light goes on... so there seems to be a signal in the unit, but I can't get it to hear it (I've tried with headphones directly in the unit and trying to monitor the signal in the daw, no luck). This morning I rebooted the computer again, opened cakewalk and tried again, this time I'm getting a MIDI error that I didn't get before and the ASIO device says "not connected". Any clues on what's going on?

Hi! I have a question, please. What volume should I set on the microphone line on Windows? Should I set it to 100% and reduce the interface gain, or should I let the mic on Windows at 50% and increase the interface gain?

My UMC22 is working great through Reaper and headphones but when I try to use it with Skype or zoom they is an error message saying either the microphone or the speakers are not recognised. Sometimes it's one or the other.
Any help with this would be welcome!
Thanks

What if you don’t install the drivers and try to just plug and play ?

Ive been playing guitar for around two years now and I've become fairly confident enough that I want to record, watching this video helped but I'm just afraid of not being informed enough on the software needed. If anybody has any recommendations, they would be greatly appreciated!

I see in your ASIO driver window you have a box checked that reads "force 16 bit" but my Behringer UMC 404 (the four channel version of this unit, and with the behringer drivers mine records in 24 bit... don't know

I probably would go with the Behringer U-Phoria IMC202HD if the bitrate and frequency are a thing. It also has a Midas design pre-amp, which is quite a lot better for not that much more money really. 60 bucks or so for a great audio interface.

When you connect guitar to the audio interface, from where does your sound gets delivered? Have you connected your studio monitor speakers to the interface (on the rear of UMC 22)? Or you used an auxiliary cable (1/4" pins) to insert them in the front panel headphones port and connect it to an amplifier?
My concern is when i practise my guitar before recording, from where should I ideally get to hear my work/preview?
Thanks.

I bought one recently. I downloaded the drivers and it doesn't record or playback. I use Windows 11 and Studio One. Apparently there are issues with the Behringer drivers.
