Inspiring or Questionable? Gwyneth Paltrow's Montecito Mansion

In today's video we’re reviewing another celebrity home… and this time it’s the fascinating custom Montecito home of Gwyneth Paltrow. This home is both surprising, questionable, and inspiring and I’ll share my observations and opinions as she walks us through her entryway, powder room, dining room, kitchen, living room, and make sure you watch all the way to the end of the video to see what Gwyneth calls “the most fabulous thing in the home” … you won’t want to miss it! I have worked as a caterer and private chef in Montecito and the second pantry kitchen is where we would always work. The main kitchen stays clean and available for the home owners to host guests.

It feels like the house can’t decide what it is, like there’s a fight going on in the design. Overall it feels too cold and I like a warmer feel. I didn’t like the light fixture in the living room or the ladder. I’m sure it makes her happy though and it’s her house. To each his own.

I certainly love certain aspects of Gwyneth's home: the blue plate wall, the fluted fireplace, the flooring, the stone fireplace, and the wallpapers. Some rooms seem finished while others seem like they missed the mark. Her personal style is gorgeous; that outfit looks gorgeous on her.

There were certain aspects and pieces that I loved and then others that just looked out of place. I agree that those lights in the living room need to go.

What is the countertop material in the kitchen? I love almost everything about the kitchen, but keeping the plate wall clean is impractical for most.
