Until the matter Integrations RS feature Rich and parity with the native apps, matter remains a last-ditch attempt at integration into an otherwise closed ecosystem. For those of us running amazon, Google home, or home assistant, I don't see matter impacting our Smart Home Design or purchasing decisions. Am I missing something here?

Thanks for the video. As for those companies that are holding out on working with Matter, I am wondering what the perceived reasons are since it does not seem like a feasible option as we move forward to simply restrict users to one ecosystem. I've been really hopeful that all of my various smart products would work together someday. I like Ring for some things, I like Apple for some things, and so on and so forth. I also think the near future is going to reward the best products and create better competition. Hopefully that means the consumer wins (sort of.)

I made the mistake of buying some nanoleaf matter bulbs last year, which are not gathering dust in my drawer. Despite advertising they have a circadian lighting feature and they "work with alexa" I discovered after the fact that the key feature that I bought it for doesn't in fact work with alexa. I should dust them off and see if anything has changed with this update.

If they ban tplink will that also effect tapo? Is it safe to run tapo gear?

So nothing new to Matter, just CSA Bureaucracy. We still have to wait until 2026 for Matter 1.4 and Thread 1.4 to get implemented

Hi, I set up my show 8 gen per one of your other videos but it slow to respond. By the time it says someone is at the door (1 or 2 maybe 3 SEC.) I am at the door. Is that because it's a gen 3 and slow or just the nature of the show device in general? Love your videos, very informative.

my first smart bulb was a matter bulb, alexa took control and it worked fine, until that is i realized alexa was very limited in its routines department and it would not share the bulb with any other app, this made it no much use apart from just being able to use my voice to turn it on and off lol.
I then managed to get alexa to let go of the bulb by resetting it, i connetced it to another smartlife and it was even worse, I could only control the bulb with my phone and not use it in any scenes oh and my phone had to be on the same network.
so went back to just alexa control and put the bulb in stairway so i can turn it off when people forget lol.
Buying this stuff is very confusing for beginners, seems like you really need to stick to one brand if you want it all to work together.
