Boris Herrmann’s second Vendée Globe was nothing like his first.

Es war mir wie schon bei der letzten Vandee Globe eine Freude mit hoffen, bangen um mit fiebern Boris und die MALIZIA begleiten zu können. Alle Teilnehmer sind echte Helden der See, ohne wenn und aber. Ich habe auch viel Nord und Ostsee gesegelt und mag mir den Süd Pazifik nur voller Ehrfurcht vostellen. The penultimate Vendée Globe got me infected with the Malizia virus and makes me feel like I'm withdrawing when there's no race going on 😉 Tracker addiction, cheering, suffering and, above all, being able to share in the joy of such unbelievably, amazing, beautiful images when there are special moments. This documentary is so great because Boris lets us take a deep look into his thoughts and feelings during the Vendée, takes us there too and underlines his likeable nature and restraint: the HUMAN Boris with natural fears, resilience, happiness, sadness, motivation, team spirit and certainly so much more. He combines so many qualities in himself... all of this makes Boris Herrmann! Thank you for your generosity. I have followed you for two Vendees and the races in between. It is now time to pass the torch. It is also time to make the boats less punishing by the addition of a lifting rudder. The IMOCAs shouldn’t be torture chambers. You have nothing left to prove, either to yourself or anyone else. But for a collision with a fishing boat on the last night, you would have placed first under corrected time in the previous edition. Your abilities as a sailor and a navigator are not in doubt. You have overcome huge obstacles and there are no reasons to continue on a path that doesn’t provide happiness and contentment. It would be braver to give up the glory of single handed sailing and share your skills and knowledge with crew mates in the numerous opportunities that await. All the best Boris.

Es war eine so unbeschreiblich schöne und vor allem spannende Zeit während des Rennens. Die stetige Vorfreude auf den Tracker zu schauen und immer informiert zu sein über das aktuelle Geschehen, einfach nur fantastisch. Dafür möchte ich mich ganz herzlich bei Boris und dem gesamten Team Malizia bedanken. Durch Boris bin ich erste zum Segeln (also Zuschauen 😂) gekommen. Habe seine Bücher gelesen und war in Kiel anläßlich des Ocean Race an der Wendemarke. Es war eine unglaubliche Stimmung. Seit der Zeit bin vollends infiziert und ein großer Fan von Malizia geworden. Ich bin schon in freudiger Erwartung auf die nächsten Abenteuer 🥰⛵️🤗🤗👍
