How to remove a toggle bolt without losing the anchor behind the wall

This is how to save your money and reuse your toggle bolts. Be sure to know how long the screw is before you back off the anchor to the end. You will need to do that to make enough room for the anchor to fold in towards the hole. Good luck!

Great tip! Was down to my last toggle and needed it back out to add a larger washer for the project. I would add that the screw needs to be backed out just to the point of being able to turn the toggle sideways so the wire can fish out one end of the fully extended toggle and not fighting the spring.

Thank you! It works. I cut a piece of wire from a wire hanger, made a hook on one end, and it worked! PATIENCE is the key.

i find it much easier using one of them strong magnets glued to a piece of wire. some small tweezers and boom done in 5 seconds
