As far as what I got taught about gender is, the 23rd pair of chromosomes are two special chromosomes, X and Y, that determine our sex. Females have a pair of X chromosomes (46, XX), whereas males have one X and one Y chromosomes (46, XY).
So... how come just fitting or removing a boob and implanting vagina or penis makes someone a man or woman.
It's an utter abomination.

Funny how Elon and the people supporting him neglect to look at the underlying issue here: HE is the parent and he raised him/her. Where is the accountability? Where is the "handling things more maturely" instead of turning this into media hype nonsense. This should have been a private conversation in which him and his child sorted through this appropriately instead of this crap we see now. If it were someone else, they would blame the parent 150%. Neglect and abuse are very real problems in the household, but because he's Elon, he's devoid of that?
