TRAGEDY IN ALASKA, 4 ARRESTED GETTING OFF CRUISE SHIP.
Rockslide in Alaska claims 1 life and injures 3. more area in danger of another landslide. 4 people arrested getting of cruise ship in Miami for credit card fraud. Carnival Vista still not fixed. Royal caribbean orders more Icon class ships. Bar harbour want cruise lines to sign contracts agreeing not to sue them.

I like the smaller (2, 000 passengers) ships.
Shorter lines, friendlier people and room to move about. The only downside is less extravagant entertainment.

Fraudulent credit card on a cruise really isnt a good idea. You're not going anywhere and they know exactly where you are.

I do not want to go on any large cruise ships. Done it and hate it. We try to stick with the 2000 or so sized ships.

I don’t blame Bar Harbor. I was there last year I drove there. It was great all week until the cruise ship came in.
You couldn’t walk the streets without pushing and shoving your way thru the crowds.
It was ridiculous. Lots of these small towns aren’t big enough for these ships. There’s more people on the ship than the town that’s a bit much.
The ships need to go to places that can handle the crowds.
The cruise lines are ruining it for themselves.
Now with these mega ships they’re only gonna screw themselves because all they care about is the almighty buck.
They’re getting bit by the hand that feeds them.

We’re Diamond Plus on Royal Caribbean and have pretty much stopped cruising with them. Our kids have gotten older and don’t go with us as often . We prefer their smaller ships. I wish RCCL would build some new smaller ships. We love the Freedom Class size.

I live less than twenty miles from Bar Harbor. It seems if something is given as an idea that could possibly help their area, they vote no.

Sending prayers to the people of Ketchikan and to the visitor who lost their life while visiting there. I cruised Alaska on Princess several years ago and it was a wonder. As far as those Royal Caribbean mega ships are concerned, they're are a bit too much for me. We've cruised on them twice with my now adult children, and it was even a lot for them as kids. I now cruise with my grandchildren on smaller ships and they love it as much as the ships with rock walls, ice skating rinks and go cart tracks! It's more about the destinations for us.

This is why I refused to cruise, because of fights! They should be arrested for fighting and any other types of abuse.

I find it concerning that the ship continues to sail even though they know there are issues with is propulsion systems. What happens if a storm flares up and they need additional power to fight the storm or maneuver? Do they have the needed power available?

You would think adding all these cabins, pricing would have to come down. They do need some smaller ships that can do more diverse itineraries

Those new Icon class ships look great but I can't bring myself to pay as much as they're asking. Hopefully they can bring the prices down to something a lot more reasonable for the rest of us.
