You deleted an unused (empty) volume to free up enough unallocated space so that you could extend another one - all on the same physical hard drive. The title of the video mentions merging two drives together - as in two separate physical hard drives (english isn't too strong?) Might want to reconsider the title. To the inexperienced people, always cover your ass by creating a backup image of the entire disk. Good luck.
