For the beginner, 5 bladed fans have more thrust and are easier to take off from ground or hand toss.

For those who are new here to this video, there are a few very good 3s battery systems which means CHEAPER planes and cheaper batteries. The Freewing 64mm series, namely the MiG15, the Lippisch p.15 and the F86 are all great options. If one wants to go 4s, I've heard the Arrows Marlin is EXCEPTIONAL value. All the above mentioned jets are 5 blade fan setups, while the Marlin is an 11 or 12 bladed fan on 4s.

Take care and FLY ON!

The big thing for me having the Viper as my first edf, I learned the landing speed is absolutely critical. To fast and it will bounce which 9 times out of ten it will stall and usually break the nose, to slow and it will pancake with potentially similar results. But when you get it right it's awesome. It really is a great edf, it flies so well and looks great in the air, but I do wonder if it really is a good trainer. I won't be buying any other edf's this size. I'm told a-10's etc are even harder to land so that's it for me. Just my 2 cents, that's all.

The f15 flies great use to have that same one but the 3s before they switch to 4s and 11 blade pretty quick hand toss tho. Viper is a great jet too awesome for beginning edf pilots to learn here
