I wish euro board game rulebooks came on such nice stock.I really love the sound of this rulebook as you flip through its pages.I bet the ink used in its printing even smells nice.I wonder how much the overhead cost of printing a manual like this is versus a typical euro game manual is?A few cents?That adds up I suppose when you are printing thousands of copies though.I'm one of those people that appreciates quality, even a lowly rulebook. ;)

@galathonredd That's a fair point regarding the unique cards. But, it just seems to me to that FFG could have included a negligibly small amount of cards to make obtaining a full playset much easier.

I think the exact opposite actually! The Runners can be super aggressive and easily put the Corp on their heels right from the get go.

I played the original game back in 1996 and Android: Netrunner is very very close to the original. The only noticeable differences are the different factions and how traces work. Both changes are improvements in my opinion. There are many cards that are directly copied from the original just with new titles and a few that are tweaked slightly. I would definitely recommend it if you liked the original.

Yeah those "missing" 20 cards is super annoying, and even if it is kinda dumb I did buy three copies of the core set for both the Game of Thrones and Call of Cthulhu LCG. And with the GoT LCG it was even more annoying because you didn't even get cards for all the factions, Martell and Greyjoy are not in the core set at all.
The stupid thing is that it would be super easy and cheap for them to put in those extra cards, so you would have a complete core set collection with two base sets. They did put three copies of all cards in the newer upgrade packs and deluxe expansions (and the re-releases for those) for the other LCGs, why not the damn core sets? :-/

I'm pretty sure it's near identical to the original. I know that some of the cards are direct copies.

thanks for the review, it was very helpful and a good selling pt for the game. in a way it reminds me of the Star Wars CCG from a while ago, deck interactions etc..

I played the original, it looks very similar, but I think the runners, and corporation cards are new. That and that and limiting the number of cards from other decks is new. It was a great game unfortunately someone stole my cards, so I'll be picking this up.
