The most aggressive car mods? more like the most depressive car mods! Who needs intimidating Mods when you can intimidate yourself! Remember when Toyota Supra's, Corvettes, Ford Mustangs, Nissan Skyline's, and Mazda Rx-7's all had Shift Levers? Hell, even a Chrysler Minivan had a shift lever? Now C8 Corvettes use this stupid Shifter Button setup and many more cars use the Dial Knob crap. I'm not trying to adjust my radio, I'm trying to shift gears for Heaven's sake!

This is why I will never own any new vehicle. With all the screens and things they are adding to cars. Plus more normal features are being moved to said screens as well. I understand wanting to make things better, but putting everything behind a screen is going to lead to more eyes off the road just to adjust things like the AC

A big factor that influenced me on what car I purchased when finally getting a new vehicle was the presence of a shift knob compared to the dial.

I think the early 2010s is the peak of analog and digital combinations. I drive a 2013 car, still has the gear selector stick, but it also has the leather (esque) cutout around the shifter

Another BIG problem with the lack of a physical shift knob from my experience is that there is no emergency override when the battery dies. When my uncle’s 2018 Honda Odyssey’s battery died one night, we couldn’t get it into neutral because it lacked an override switch that’s normally next to the shifter on a traditional automatic. Even when the tow truck came, it had issues getting it out of the parking space because it was FWD and the transmission was stuck in park! It had to be dragged out which probably didn’t do wonders for the transmission. We also had a small jump pack, but it wasn’t enough to get it started unfortunately.

When I see these shifter wheels and buttons, I feel like the car is missing something that makes it feel like it's a car.
I guess the car companys are trying to make cars be computers with this design.
