It’s summer of ‘84, on the coast of California the waves gently splash against the hull as you and your friends open ice cold beers, soak up a few rays and set sail.

On the radio? The Doobie Brothers, Chicago, Steely Dan, Toto, Michael McDonald, Kenny Loggins, Jimmy Messina and more. These acts and many more like them filled the airwaves of 70’s and 80’s radio with a brand of mainstream smoothed our funky rock that came to be known as Yacht Rock.

Here, two of London’s finest DJs explore their unrequited love of the genre with a 90 minute voyage to the sunshine of the Californian coast.

Especially, there are not the typical yacht rock songs in it, but some a real new gems to me.
