I cannot get over the fact that humans can write things that humans cannot comprehend. Isn't that just amazing.

The pattern is the laws of physics. The previous universe was an abstract world of concepts and negotiated relationships between them. For example, people gained the ability to swim in water by conceding to water the power to drown them. It was a place ruled by platonic ideals.

All of that was wiped away when the universe was recreated with concrete predetermined rules that everything had to obey. Some of the inhabitants of the previous universe survived by entering the pattern and sacrificing much of their conceptual properties to become physical beings, such as the bamboo people. Others fled to edges of reality and became screaming nonentities trapped in the void under and between existence as we know it.

That first part with the Planet Builders is touching. They finally realize that their masters are alive, and that long lost creations are coming home, to help us become what we once were.

So basically, pattern screamers are the nonexistent remains of a advanced race that came before our universe. And these bones of the void are just screaming, begging for their existence to be acknowledged, even though they don't actually exist.

This is why i love the mythos of the SCP foundation.

seeing as how 3930 is an actual void, it probably has a hume level of 0. the "chalky skin" the d class was feeling may have been his hume levels balancing out with the void and him slowly fading into non-existance, and the only thing keeping anchored to some form of reality is that people are currently watching him

Actually, there's a lot of details about the Screamers that match up with the nature of the King (their hate), or that sit inverse to his nature (for the King, existence is pain; for the Screamers, nonexistence is agony).

I think the static sounds would work better if you said something during the static moments, and then replace it with static in post. It might help the sentence flow more naturally

The funny thing about this is that there's a 99% chance that an earlier form of the foundation is the pattern, and that in itself is part of the pattern.

How I see them:

There are two types of existence.

Existence A: what the screamers experienced in the previous universe. We consider it nonexistence.

Existence B: our reality and version.

The pattern subjected them to existence B. Some were able to escape this through merging and other what have you’s and maintain some form of existence A, albeit it’s some mix of A and B. However, humans, particularly through observation, are forcing them to convert to existence B more fully.

This is why they hate us. They hate existence B and want existence A. We are taking away existence A and forcing upon them existence B. The only way for them to keep their way of existing is to get rid of us, which they can’t do unless they have enough existence B to interact with and kill us.
