Turning the rough cherry board into strips for cutting board. The way lumber prices are, I couldn’t pass this up for only $5 😮. Don’t be afraid of glue squeeze out. Better be safe than sorry with the glue. Trust me, I’ve made the mistake of not enough glue. Have fun and enjoy the Journey! 👍👍

Hey, I've been getting into woodworking, and I've got a question. How did you flatten one side to use the thickness planer? I'm trying to get into planing and surfacing, but from what I have heard about using planers, one side needs to be pretty decently flat to get a good flat edge on the other side. What gets me is how to get that first flat edge in the first place. Any help is appreciated, thanks

You ever thought of using the live edge parts as the sides of the cutting board? Maybe just the two sides you'd usually pick up.

To put this into perspective. $5, plus the time, gas, to get board. So say $15

Then you get one cutting board that takes you 4hrs. If you respect your time, that's in the low end say $20/hr

Ok, so... $5+$15+$20x4
=$100 for the cutting board.
