How To Color A Fantasy D&D World Map!

This is my first attempt at doing a full color map by hand! Hopefully there are a bunch of useful tips to get you coloring your own maps!!!

That moment when you showed the colored map, for a moment there was a visual trick of the eye where it looked like all the colors were white again and instead of black, the black lines were a rainbow of colors of what was around them. Might be an interesting way to try drawing a map. Maybe with a tea staining effect to or something to dull the white?
