Swimming at night and early morning is asking for a grim reaper visit. Both santa barbra and Rosa have seals in that area, chances are even further increased that Mr reaper will visit. That's just a death wish

People who swim in the ocean that act surprised like this fascinate me.

If it’s so dark and murky that you can’t tell a shark apart from a dolphin you can be sure that sharks are more likely to confuse you for a seal.

I’ve gone fishing in that water and have had sharks steal my catch so many times, no way you could pay me to get in that water

If you swim in the ocean at night, you’re asking to be shark food. That’s prime feeding time

Nope, I’ve stayed out of the ocean for 40+ years for a reason. Pretty sure it’s why I’m still alive.

I almost committed suicide at 19 off the Santa Barbara Pier at 1 in the morning, if I didn't hear a man's voice telling me to stop I know now I'd been gone never to be seen again. I'm terrified of deep dark water, yet I was getting p*mped amd beaten I was so tired of my existence. Not a soul on the pier but me and I heard a voice *outside* my head telling me no. I'd probably have met a harsh fate than what I viewed as a terrible existence I was experiencing that I got saved from 2 months later. I never touched Santa Barbara ocean waters, but when I visit it's all I remember.

Lol at these comments. I know you’ve all seen Jaws, shark week, deep blue sea, etc. If you’re around the ocean regularly you’ll know it’s actually pretty difficult to get attacked by a shark. I think there’s like 15 shark attacks per year and one fatality a year from shark attacks in the US. Which considering the amount of sharks and the amount of people in the water is explanation enough.

And yes, I’m aware because I just jinxed myself the next time I scuba dive I’m running into a great white lol

Keep swimming when sharks are actively hunting and eating. That's genius. 😂😂

Swimming in the ocean in morning and night is the stupidest thing you could do at least do this in daylight

The worst way to die is getting eaten by a marine predator you can’t see or identify. No way no how am I ever putting myself in that position unless I’m saving a family member. I have way too many memories from playing Subnautica which makes it worse

If this guy can’t tell the difference between a great white shark and a dolphin, he better stay out of the water….permanently

Ah yes, swimming at night, at November, in the ocean is definitely a good thing to do. It's not like a shark is gonna pop up and greet you...

So I swim in the ocean at night all the time and hey who would’ve thought there were sharks here

I used to do early morning swims close to the beach on an island. Thinking sharks wouldn't come so close to shore and just at sunrise is foolish. I was only 5 meters out when I saw a school of fish and to my surprise I actually saw a shark. 1st time swimming near a shark in open water. It was agile on turns, very different from fishes, more precise and tight. I didn't think twice and calmly swam and ran to shore. I looked back once on safe ground and I saw the shark right behind me. Don't be fooled. We are not on top of the food chain in the ocean.
