For these new replays Turin, one thing I’ve seen other commentators doing is start on the loading into the save screen, or select through both armies in the post battle report. I think it’s really helpful consistently do either one of those to let us see the full build, as it’s kind of hard to keep track of in battle, with units dying and being resummoned.

I just noticed at 3:43 when the tzeentch herald miscast, the damage hit his shield first. Given some patience, that can be pretty solid as you basically mitigate any miscast damage through a regenerating shield.

Spectators/Replay watchers should have a different UI. For example showing supplies for both players.

I'm so glad flyers can't cap. With how powerful tzeentch and cathays fliers are it would make them super oppressive.

That last minute stealth cap was so great tbh. It's interesting that it's shifting towards the meta of a land battle in the center; seems like the existence of objectives does still eliminate a lot of the shitty aspects of WH2 battles (corner camping, forest camping, draw kiting) at least. Really feels like the MP stuff is both going to be more competitive in WH3 and also require a lot less monitoring and nudging from tournament organizers over informal rulesets. So excited to see when the older factions get added into this game mode to see how their respective metas change.

The thing about Soulgrinders is that they ARE from 40k. They're just called Soulgrinders there too. You can reuse their models for DoC in both fantasy and 40k just as you can for the other Daemons.

Defilers, in 40K, is what you're thinking of. The thing is, they're a dual kit. The Soul Grinders you see here (well, actually, everywhere but here, the Nurgle one is technically a Plague Hulk) are a daemon unit, built from that kit and present in 40K, Fantasy, and Age of Sigmar, and the Defiler is the same kit and same bottom but has kind of a dreadnought head with some gun arms up top in place of the fleshy bits, used by Chaos Space Marines in 40K.

So, you're partially right. Either way, I remember when the models were first introduced and the Soul Grinder's inclusion in Fantasy has always been controversial, to say the least. Broadly speaking, it is not a popular model.

I have not forgotten about Wookie the Unclean, he will be a filthy terror upon the old world come the 17th when I am able to rename a GUO.

GG! Those secret agent toads waddling for the last cap were clutch. Wookie would be proud.

I think the supply bonus for losing needs some tuning, it's excessive.

Uh. Lesson for "how to fight tzeentch with Nurgle : use a distraction carnifex on an Objective."

A "distraction carnifex" is a strategy from 40k tabletop, where you bring a huge and intimidating unit (such as a carnifex from tyrannids), with the intention of forcing your opponent to focus fire him. You top it with a good defense support to have him waste firepower, while the rest of your army is mostly free to enact your real plan (here, controlling objectives with body count superiority).

If tzeentch had instead tied down the Exalted with bare minimum while decimating the infantry, he would soon be the only threat left, but being as slow as he his, barrier mecanic would do the trick even with the mortis engine effect.

But here we saw the tzeentch player having to deal more than 20k damage to kill of a single unit and getting way too far behind.

Do mortal units return to the spawn pool once they've been Shattered or once they actually exit the battlefield? Would be pretty advantageous to know whether accidentally letting your units to pursue be only waste of time and resources or potentially harmful to your cause. At 11:48 is a good example (Flamers even potentially helping the respawn process by accidentally friendly firing on the remaining unit).

Very well cast and played, edge of my seat material right here^^

The frantic bumping of doom knight disk when connecting to enemy units looks kind of ridiculous though :D

Souls Grinders are Soul Grinders, both in 40k and in Fantasy.
It's kind of fun that most of the demon units exist in both settings.

Now that was close! I enjoyed watching that to the end. Can't wait to see how the full release with all the different armies is going to influence this mode.

Really hope the meta doesn't dissolve into land fights as the mode has the opportunity to be much more interesting than basic land fights.

@Turin those plague toads look so much like Argentinian Horned frogs who are horrors in their own right. They are just giant aggressive moths that try to eat everything!

Any chance we will get Land battles? Not trying to complain too hard but it seems like every domination game just delves into a massive moving blob from point to point. Miss the standard armies and tactics of WH2 felt more strategic

Nurgle doesn't seem as weak as everyone makes it out to be

Would have been cool to see Tzeentch's big bombard spell to see how it counters the blob fight play.
