Guys could you please tell:
1. What version of Minecraft were you using?
2. Were you using the original scape and run parasites mod for 1.12.2 Minecraft which was made by Dhanantry?
3. Did you use other mods in your playthrough?

See the thing is this mods is not supposed to be played as a standalone. You need to have other supplements too, such as adding more helpful mobs, Adding guns, turrets for ultimate tower defense, add more weapons, add nuclear tech, add more structures for powerful loot and so on. These parasites in the original 1.12.2 mod become so powerful that they can take a lot of hits from enchanted diamond weapons and enchanted bows too while they can one shot any one even in enchanted diamond armour. I would suggest you guys go for another run in this mod but this time, add these mods:

1. HBM's nuclear tech: this mod adds a lot of cool sci-fi stuff like all sorts of weapons, nuclear reactors, modern style structures instead of the medieval ones in normal Minecraft, meteorites, radiation, turrets, new mobs, power armors that can basically make you never die, and a lot more. A lot of its features are easily able to be configured through the mod files to make your life easier. Disclaimer - it will cause the nether to have some ambient radiation, making exploration there very dangerous since you will start accumulating radiation and die.

2. Tech guns: my absolute favourite go to mod whenever I play SaRP. You have to manufacture each gun using machinery which gives a cool satisfying feel and you could even automate the machinery to continue your arms race against the parasites. It also adds new mobs (completely changes how zombies and skeletons spawn and work) and makes Nether a more dangerous place. You would want engineering mods like Immersing Engineering 2 or Mekanism to make sure that the machinery for building weapons works (you can configure that so the machinery does not require any energy from those mods)

3. Waystones: oh boy I can't fathom how important this mod is. You can basically teleport around the map through way points, very handy and actually puts the "Run" in "Scape and Run".

4. Immersive engineering/Mekanism: Engineering mods to generate energy that could be used to automate stuff besides a couple quality of life changes too.

5. Recurrent complex for new structures.

6. Spartan weaponry for melee weapons (because guns might not always be available with you due to shortage of ammo)

7. This one is optional, you can add a starter kit to give yourself a head start against the parasites. This is because at later stages, they will progress very very fast.

Also here are some tips to build your base:
1. NEVER ever build your base in heavily forested areas. You will never be able to see what's happening around you. Beckons may spawn anywhere and everywhere and if you couldn't find them, they could grow and spawn more parasites.
2. NEVER ever build your base in a desert biome even though it has tons of free space, because desert biomes spawn with a lot of tunnels and caves underground, and parasites love residing under the ground. By extension you should also not build underground bases because you just have heard "Jal me rehkar magar se bair", underground is literally the originating place for parasites.
3. Always find a plains biome and build there, high up in the sky. Tower up your blocks until you're exhausted and then ladder down from there. Of course you will have to enclose that ladder in blocks so that you don't accidentally fall down.
4. Don't use just cobblestone to build since there are parasites that might grow on top of cobblestone and infect it causing more to spawn, and flying parasites might still break down your base since cobblestone is weak. Use the blocks from the structures you find in HBM's nuclear tech mod since they are mostly metallic (iron, gold, diamond, emerald blocks count as metallic, most of the nuclear tech mod blocks are also metallic) and parasites can never break metal blocks (unless they are the top tier boss mobs which can only be stopped by obsidian).
5. The walls in your base should have atleast 3 layers of metal blocks and 1-2 layers of cobblestone, and the floor should be cobblestone slabs, and not even a single corner should be left unlit. This is because the small parasites (buglins and rupters) can spawn even in half block spaces and can spawn in more parasites, and parasites like assimilated endermen can teleport themselves as well as other mobs inside your base if the walls are not too thick.
6. For the love of God, don't farm animals in this mod. They WILL get infected and WILL die horribly, not leaving you with any food. Just slaughter any and every animal you find (i would never do that😢) and farm crops only in stages 1 and 2 because in later infection stages, crops will start growing slower. If you are really keen on farming animals, you must somehow lead them very high on top of your base and then enclose them in atleast 5 layers of metal blocks.
7. If you TRULY want to beat this mod and don't care about the action, there are two methods, one of which has been outdated due to the release of aquatic parasites:
(a) gather as many blocks as you can, craft a fishing rod, go far out in the Ocean and start building your base there. Start from the bottom of the sea and build up from there high into the sky, then stay there for how much ever long you want to. However since now there are aquatic parasites in the mod now, you are going to have to stay away from their spawns which is going to be difficult.
(b) try to create a nether portal within the first in game week. The nether portal should be situated very high in the sky, again, enclosed in atleast 4-5 layers of metal blocks to prevent any parasites from entering, and then enter the nether and break the portal from inside. Watch some speedrunning videos on how to create nether portal without diamond pickaxe. From then onwards, live your life in the nether. It's easier to deal with ghasts and pigmen than to deal with eldritch horrors.

Right then these were my suggestions on how to play this mod the next time whenever you try this out again. I strongly suggest using the mods I mentioned however you could explore other options too. Trust me your gameplay experience would be TOTALLY enhanced with this mod. Best of luck!
