Zhiyun Crane 2 with Servo Follow Focus // Micro Four Thirds

Zhiyun have a cool offer on at the moment where if you buy the Zhiyun Crane 2, you get the Servo Follow Focus accessory for free. I thought I'd take them both for a spin with my Panasonic GH5 and see what I could come up with. It was loads of fun!

The follow focus is a great addition. It now means that you can use the focus wheel on the Crane 2, no matter what camera or lens you are using. (Prior to this, it was only Canon cameras that could use it natively I believe. But don't quote me on that.)

The USB cable for Panasonic is to short from the Servo to the camera. Why is nobody talking about this? I use a GH5.

Good video. Answered my question too. IDK GH5/GH5s plus Metabones and anamorphic glass may be too much weight. But then you'll need a vest and arm or something too. The shot you're talking about is called a "Zolly". Zoom + dolly forward or back. I will be getting mine soon so I'll see what it can do vs. the Ronin M and the Redking.

great video, ive got this crane 2 and your right its amazing the battery life is super long and nice not needing to worry about the batteries i have osmo plus which is still good but u change batteries 8 times in a day . anyway ive got the GH4 but the lens ive got is the one it came with im needing one that pushes the images back a little as the lens i have is a little to forward all the time and you end up with a cropped images with no full persons body in the shots

awesome video! Really like your setup with the lighting. Looks so pro! i just bought the servo follow focus for my crane 2 and the remote to pull focus from a distance. I found this hdmi transmitter/receiver that should be able to send the signal from my camera to an external monitor that the 1st AC can use when pulling focus while i operate the gimbal.

just a little bit of advice i ordered mine from amazon uk, and had to call and complain it came with no follow focus with it i hadnt noticed till i opened the box, it was missing, so they had to refund me now ive got to send it back !!!! and i have to reorder it

hello! I currently have a crane v2 and lumix g7. I know the crane 2 is for strong cameras, but I do a lot of automotive racing videos and the v2 can't keep up with the speeds these cars can take. Would upgrading to the crane 2 help with it's stronger motors?

Thanks for the review. I have always been of the understanding that you cannot effectively pull focus on a fly by wire photography lens because they do not have hard stops like a cinema lens but I see you are using one of them in this video. Could you let me know your thoughts on this please.

what are the best lenses (in mm) are best fit for weddings using crane2? i use canon though
