I've been searching for a solution for me as the camera cage for 5D MKIII is very expensive. I ended up buying these two itens (only waiting for its arrival): MPU100 Quick Release L Bracket and KZ-20 Quick Release. I think it will work fine for making IGTV videos.

I have a new Crane 2 today, and very excited after watching your video tips. But I have (probably) a DUMB question I hope you can answer, because it is not mentioned in the manual:
CAN I CHECK THE FIRMWARE VERSION - basically, turn on the gimbal and scroll down the menu - WITHOUT a camera attached, balanced, and ready to go? That is, can I turn on the gimbal with nothing onboard, or will that damage the motors or corrupt the software? I will not have my camera here for a few days and want to see if the firmware is the latest.
Oh, and I guess I should also ask, can you update the firmware with no camera onboard.
