They have another advantage: the shutter is in the lens, not the body, so the highest shutter speed can still be used with a flash.

I bought a Canon 5DS about 7 years ago because its sensor was 50.6 Mp and this was the main reason I bought it - so I could severely crop the image and still be left with a good quality image. It’s like having a secret zoom on the camera, no matter what lens you use.

To be fair, you can make the same crop as you did in this example on any modern full frame camera too. It was not a particularly aggressiv crop.

You must be over the moon they gave you that camera. Truly magnificent and most will never touch it 😢. At least I can get a gfx for sub 3000. Not as big sensor but still medium format

My s24u has a 200MP ISOCELL HP2, so I don't really see 100MP as a big deal. The point is the clarity, which all on the lens being used.

There are many unique advantages to Hassleblad, but on glaring disadvantage: price

Bro also forgot to mention that with a sensor that size with pixels that large you get huge dynamic range boost with ridiculously lifelike color rendition.
