The KF-21's project was almost finished successfully but the KAAN is still not over, what's more, it has a few technical problems to solve. The former has finished various missile launching tests recently, and the engine will be developed soon by South Korean industrial companies. But the latter is still ongoing many test courses, furthermore, a few international news reports commented that the Turkiye gov't doesn't have enough budget to maintain the project.

Even if the project would be finished positively someday, the jet fighter's developers must consider its engine matter, to be honest. The newest aircraft project needs big bucks and a long time research period. Thus, the KF-21 project was planned by the gov't about 20 years ago, however, the KAAN's R&D time is still not so long enough.

KF-21 has already conducted thousands of flights and has proven its Meteor and Aim2000 live-fire capabilities, AESA radar performance, high-difficulty flight capabilities, and Mach 1.8 flight speed...

With what proven performance does KAAN overpower KF21?

1. South Korean Perspective
The KF-21 is currently considered a 4.5-generation fighter jet due to its empty weapon bay that is not yet activated. However, it has successfully demonstrated its detection and tracking capabilities using AESA radar and has also conducted a successful test launch of the Meteor missile. It is expected to transition to a 5th-generation fighter in Block 3.

2. Turkish Perspective
The KAAN is considered a 5th-generation fighter jet. While it does not yet have an AESA radar or an internal weapons bay, it is still classified as 5th-generation due to its paper design.

3. Facts
The KAAN's internal weapon bay is not activated in the Block-1 variant, just like the KF-21. However, the Turks insist on calling the KF-21 a 4.5-generation fighter. In reality, the activation status of the weapon bay is the same for both the KF-21 Block 1 and the KAAN Block 1.

Despite this, the Turks adamantly claim that their KAAN is a 5th-generation fighter.

4. What We Can Observe
South Koreans: They are matter-of-fact and speak based on the facts as they develop.

Turks: They have a blind faith in their country's propaganda and believe in the ultimate success without understanding the intermediate steps. They are obsessed with success and only talk about achieving it.

I wish both countries success in the technological projects they carry out. Türkiye is working harder on domestic production. Because the war never ends in the geography where it is located. These two aircraft are not equivalent. I don't understand why it's always compared. Even the needs of the two countries are completely different. The world's most active aircraft fleet is in Turkey. It is constantly active. There is no other country (I am not talking about countries at war) that makes 5, 500 sorties in two months. Think about the last time Korea entered an active battlefield. What I mean is that Turkey's needs and Korea's plans are completely different.

KF-21 does not aim to have all 5th-generation capability. They are trying to bridge between the 4th gen and the 5th gen.
