I had a 1994 craftsman just like that parked right next to my 2023 troybilt in my shed. Shed caught on fire and burned completely down. The troybilt looked like soup afterwards, frame melted and everything, the craftsman burned but still had its structure. So yeah I'm definitely replacing them with an old craftsman.

YES. They dont make em like they used to. The old ones dont have all those aggravating safety switches when malfunction the mow will not start.
Old ones do not have OHV for emissions which req yearly valve adj-old ones not. The old one use heavier metal which last longer. New ones use
lots of fragile plastics. Old ones are simpler. Simple = reliable & longer lasting.

I take older lawnmowers that have no deck and pulley swap them and make them go 20+

Get an older Cub, They're actually TRACTORS. Made by International Harvester.
