Kidou was 4 parallel universes ahead of everyone else when he had haizaki be goalkeeper for seishou

reverse positioning is interesting, but i don't wanna see it return in VR. i think Galaxy did it best where you could *hypothetically* train a character for any position, but they're better in their default one. having the meta revolve around using characters in incorrect positions just doesn't sound appealing and defeats the point of players even having positions in the first place

I wish Inazuma was as popular as Pokémon so we could more often see professional players using stuff like this in championships, and more people talking about strats

I like the idea of being able to change anyones position ( i could for example turn darren into a midfielder like he used to be as something nerdy or do something funny like turning a random forward into a goalkeeper).However, if reverse positioning returns in victory road, i dont want it make goalkeepers not be able to play as a goalkeeper, making reverse positioning mandatory. I also hope that they explain the freedom stat more this time around.

Here’s the in-depth explanation! (Featuring GO 3’s stat training, unsure if Tom will do GO 3’s stats in a future video)

PLEASE NOTE: Reverse Positioning isn't "overpowered" or "broken", it's simply a way to make characters viable in other areas that would be better in their main position. The difference between a reverse positioned player and a non-reverse positioned player is only around 2-3% in viability. It is only a strong recommendation if you are playing high level competitive multiplayer matches. This is simply a guide on how to make reverse positioned players.

**Inazuma Eleven GO 1**
New game, new engine, new stats. For the better this time as they are more clear on what they do. This is also the game that introduces us to reverse positioning in terms of stat training. Reverse positioning is very prevalent in the previous games but that was due to the player’s moveset. (E.g. FW Pants)

Kick = Shooting power
Dribble = Dribbling power
Block = Blocking power
Catch = Catching power & Decreases the chance of getting a “Whoops”
Technique = Boosts power slightly & Determines the chance of a move failing dependant on the difficulty of the move
Speed = Running speed
Stamina = Reduces the amount of FP drainage
Luck = Determines the chance of a critical hit

In this game, a player’s position now determines how their stats are trained. E.g. for GKs, Kick will decrease luck when all freedom points are used and vice versa.
**Goalkeeper**
Kick <-> Luck
Dribble <-> Block
Catch <-> Technique
Speed <-> Stamina

**Defender**
Kick <-> Catch
Dribble <-> Luck
Block <-> Technique

**Midfielder**
Kick <-> Catch
Dribble <-> Technique
Block <-> Luck
Speed <-> Stamina

**Forward**
Kick <-> Technique
Dribble <-> Block
Catch <-> Luck
Speed <-> Stamina

Note: It is advised to start training when the player reaches Lv99.

🟢 = This position’s stat training is generally better than others
🟡 = This position’s stat training is generally average
🔴 = This position’s stat training is generally worse off than others
(You can mark this in the video btw)

**How to train - GK**
GK to be a GK🟢
Train all your freedom into Catch until Technique drops down to 1. Then max out Dribble, Speed and Luck.

GK to be a DF🟡
Train all your freedom into Block until Dribble drops down to 1. Then max out Technique, Speed and Luck.

GK to be a MF🟡
Train all your freedom into Dribble until Block drops down to 1. Then max out Technique, Speed and Luck.

GK to be a FW🟡
Train all your freedom into Kick until Luck drops down to 1. Then max out Technique, Speed and Block.

**How to train - DF**
DF to be a GK🟡
Train all your freedom into Catch until Kick drops down to 1. Then max out Technique, Speed and Luck.

DF to be a DF🔴
Train all your freedom into Block until Technique drops down to 60. Then max out Dribble, Speed and Catch.

DF to be a MF🟢
Train all your freedom into Dribble until Luck drops down to 1. Then max out Technique, Speed and Catch.

DF to be a FW🟡
Train all your freedom into Kick until Catch drops down to 1. Then max out Technique, Speed and Dribble.

**How to train - MF**
MF to be a GK🟡
Train all your freedom into Catch until Kick drops down to 1. Then max out Technique, Speed and Luck.

FW to be a GK🟡
Train all your freedom into Catch until Luck drops down to 1. Then max out Technique, Speed and Dribble.

FW to be a DF🟢
Train all your freedom into Block until Dribble drops down to 1. Then max out Technique, Speed and Catch.

FW to be a MF🟢

FW to be a FW🟢

As you can see, Arion is now a far better defender than being a midfielder.
While Arion loses his Dribble stat, it is far better to have a strong block stat as a Defender in return.
This is called pareto optimal ditribution. Where you find the best possible stat spread to use in the META. Which in turn has provided us reverse positioning.

You may have noticed why I have been labelling DFs and MFs to train Technique down to 60 points rather than 1. That is because the best bracelet in the game: Tezcat’s Bracelet gives +40 technique.

**Inazuma Eleven GO 2**
GO 2’s stat training methods is exactly the same as GO 1’s. However GO 2 has a bit of a different meta than GO 1’s.

**Equipment**
Instead of Tezcat’s Bracelet giving +40 Technique. It is now the Zero Gloves that give +70 Technique. So instead of training until Technique drops to 60, train until Technique drops to 30.

**Calculations**
GO 1’s power calculations are: (Statx0.8+Techniquex0.2)
GO 2 halves it. So stats have a minimal impact in total power but they are still important nevertheless.

This has reduced the severity of DFs and MFs being bad defending and midfielding.

**Forwards**
Now that spirit moves have been nerfed, armourfying with normal special moves has now required FWs to keep their technique stat at 30 instead of dropping down to 1.

**Goalkeepers**
The BIGGEST blow to goalkeepers is a variety of factors:

1) Gloves now boost Catch and Technique stats, meaning they yield 60-90 less catch than what a FW would have on his kick.
A GK only has +10 Technique gloves and +70 Catch Gloves (80 points)
A FW can have +70 Technique Gloves and +70 Kick Boots (140 points)

2) With the introduction of stunning, a key feature in GO 2 and 3. Technique is the stat that was allocated to decrease the amount of stun a GK gets.
And it’s just so happens that training up a GK’s catch DECREASES technique.

So all of a sudden, Goalkeepers are terrible at being Goalkeepers as they can’t drop technique to increase their catch and they get stunned easier than reverse positioned goalkeepers.

A visual example is:

**Sunil Rahman** - The goalkeeper with the highest catch stat in the game when training his technique to 1
Catch: 318
Technique: 90
Catch power: 136.2

**Buzz Cutt** - Literally a random DF with an awful 47 base catch
Catch: 246
Technique: 262
Catch Power: 124.6

As you can see, Buzz Cutt has similar catching power as well as more stun resistance.

**What is the best positions for everyone?**
GK to be a GK🔴
GK to be a DF🟡
GK to be a MF🟡
GK to be a FW🟡
DF to be a GK🟢
DF to be a DF🟡
DF to be a MF🟢

FW to be a GK🟢
FW to be a DF🟢
FW to be a MF🟢
FW to be a FW🟡

**Inazuma Eleven GO 3**
Same stats, different story.

1) Now stats do not decrease, so GKs are back to being good and reverse positioning is 99% completely gone
2) Freedom has been ramped up to 200-300
3) Stat calculations are 250% more important than GO 2’s
4) Stamina determines stun damage rather than Technique

**Training Method**
**Goalkeepers**
Step 1) Now GKs require exactly 164 stamina to not get stunned, so train a player’s stamina until it hits 119 if they have less than 119 stamina. (Demonic Bracelet gives +45 Stamina)
Step 2) Then pour the rest into catch

**Defenders**
Step 1) Pour all freedom into block

**Defensive Midfielders**
Step 1) Pour 100 points of freedom into Block
Step 2) Pour the rest into dribble

**Midfielders**
Step 1) Pour all freedom into dribble

**Spirit dribbling Midfielders**
Step 1) Pour freedom into speed until it reaches 200
Step 2) Pour the rest into dribble

**Forwards**
Step 1) Pour all freedom into kick

And thats it. GO 3 is a very one-stat juggernaut style meta.

**GO 1 & GO 2**
[Pros]
Meta wise, balanced enough
Not too hard to get into
Affordable(Prestige Points)

[Cons]
Some positions become less favourable

Rating: 7/10, I wouldn’t mind seeing this return

**GO 3**
[Pros]
Quick
Simple
Cheap

[Cons]
Meta wise, Extremely unbalanced
Results in a One dimensional stat build

Rating: 6/10, the unbalanced meta ruins it for me

Hope you enjoyed if you’ve read till the end

This is awesome! I didn't know it was this deep, giving me pokemon vgc vibes! I hope that with victory road being pretty popular and really good and deep, it can get a competitive scene too!

I hope Level 5 knows about this so they can make sure this can't happen in VR

A separate comment where i'd say that my own take on Reverse Positioning is that I don't really like it but I don't dislike it either. I'm fine with it being there.
A good compromise I think would be combining GO and CS's stat calcs and general Freedom level with Galaxy's rule that you cannot lower a stat by training.
That way, Reverse Positioning is still perfectly fine as an option without being crippled without crippling players who stay in their own positions.

2:52 come to think of it, it actually make sense for FW character can be in any position since so many interesting characters usually in FW position (like how almost all antagonist captain in the series is an FW).
