I was very disappointed they straight skipped the storm when (legitimately) travelling to Inazuma. I was expecting we dart around on deck with the crew doing all sorts of nautical jargon while the ship be dodging various lighting strikes and we manned cannons to take out krakens stern, port, aft and starbord, sort of like the flying sequence with Dvalin. Or jumping off the crow's nest and bomb oceanic enemies a la the Raptor quest dungeon. Come on, MiHoyo, I need this!

This is awesome! That lightning montage is how I imagine canon Aether would be like. Jumping from world to world defying the gods. It felt at any moment the unknown god would pop up due to his insolence.

Theory : when the GAA was available on 1.6 I traveled under the map and it was similar to the big land of sand that appear and was not there. So maybe there is something related to that since the GAA are coming back on 2.8

Perhaps the landmass is a way for the devs to test out Sumeru before it releases to experiment on weather and sand since it's most likely mostly desert

I got so obsessed with this idea that I actually tried it myself on my alt, no quest, ar21 account-
I spent the night trying to find the location of where we're supposed to cross and I found it in the IMMENSITY of the underwater world, pulled out some hair... And managed to reach the new landmass in a few tries only to fail miserably to the storm.
It's so very hard, I'm really astonished with your dedication, I decided I'd keep that challenge for later as I am clearly not skilled enough at the moment-
