The pod starts with a reaction to the Bukayo Saka injury, what it means for the January transfer window, and what options exist within the squad. Then the attention turns to the game, starting with the lineup and a back and forth first half that saw chances at both ends. Jesus’s spectacular form is discussed as well as some interesting performances, including Martinelli’s off the right, Myles Lewis-Skelly, David Raya and Jurrien Timber. The subs are analyzed, including a great performance from Declan Rice, Ethan Nwaneri at 9, and how Arsenal dominated the second half. There’s an overall look at the state of play in the league, and how Arsenal’s league chances are looking plus some other bits and pieces. All that and more on this edition of the ArsenalVision Podcast.

Injuries happen and they suck tim. What have we done to improve our attack this season generally to reduce goal dependence on saka, loan a washed sterling, yeah reason enough to question this negligence. Our attack needed to be better. All of this compounds. Dont compare us to liverpool and city, they have won things in the past, pressure is on us to win something in this era. Its us who have to make moves to catch them.

Martinelli played well on the right we have enough players to cover Saka Jesus could also do it, injuries are part of football especially at Arsenal

Im gutted at Saka's injury. The 5-1 is hollow to me because I know we are an amazing fkin team. 😢 Thats why it hurts so much that we havent even seen it this season. Damn

We tried to get Mudryk and Caicedo for 80 million in Jan. If the club wants an expensive player they should do it.

I think martinelli and trossard alone won't be enough mainly because of fatigue issues.

I believe we are heading there. The signing of Havertz when Xhaka left, and again Merino have made this team almost stagnant. These two are not the match winners that were required.

We've become a top steady team that will be there but not get over the line.

I felt the life flow out of me when Clive suggested 6 at the back 😢😂
I found more life was left to drain up when Clive didn't dismiss Rashford ffs 😭
I would actually take Mudryk before Rashford 😂. Truly

West ham have said they are willing to sell kudus, its just a no brainer he can probably do the best impression of saka in the whole league plus offer cover to martin and be a starting option in left 8 and left wing when everyone is available. 80m on him makes more sense than 50-60m on a semenyo or mbeumo even though I would be pleased with either of those guys.

This season is screwed anyway from the league perspective. I hope Saka gets some mental rest during this period. He’s been playing non-stop for like 4-5 seasons now.

How can Tim say oh there’s noone out there in January … lol.

There are plenty out there that will offer us something going forward and provide a goal threat that we will miss with Saka out. We have to buy someone now. We were light before this and now we don’t have Saka or Sterling. Semenyo, Dibling, Lookman Osimhen, Kudus are all there at the right price and two of them have RCs and one of them is in a relegation team, who has refused to extend and only has 18 mo left.

Likely we need to overpay or gamble but they need to do something! We have very few forward options and Jesus is likely to break down after a few matches.

It’s not just about game changers, it’s also about freshening up and changing things up mid game when needed.

I’m with Clive on Semenyo that guy loves to shoot and you can’t knock him off the ball. He makes us even more physical and robust but he’s not slow either and great ball carrier. A different option. Lookman for 55m apart from being CL cup tied is good business acc to his stats and Osimhen 63m RC. Mbeumo also been linked… and all suitable for Arsenal imo.

Great content, as always! I have a quick question: My OKX wallet holds some USDT, and I have the seed phrase. (alarm fetch churn bridge exercise tape speak race clerk couch crater letter). How can I transfer them to Binance?

The amount of things that have gone wrong for us, and utterly perfectly for Liverpool is kind of baffling. It feels like we're 3-0 down at half time with 9 men, while Slot goes back in time to get the Liverpool team from 5 years ago who breezed the league. Honestly im just struggling to make sense of anything thats happening this season

Season probably ending early for us if we don't get proper cover

We need X factor in our team, and we dont necessarily have it even with Saka on the wing. We need a match winner who can do it alone, just like Salah does at Liverpool. I don’t know who it is, but I do know we don’t have it and we do need it.

We lose Saka's corners too 😢. Top 4 and quarters CL I would take now. Those 2 Mickey Mouse cup semis against each team who have little else to play for might just kill us. Definitely need a signing even if loan.

It’s gonna be tough - maybe nothing we try will be enough make up for the loss - but then again maybe it was always going to take something like this to force us to become less reliant on Saka? Not much we can do about it anyway, so I guess we might as well try and treat it as an opportunity to try something different - something that otherwise wouldn’t have even considered if Saka was fit.

I’m not overly worried about coming up ideas - I can already think of several solutions without too much effort - but I am a little concerned about load on the remaining available attackers. We’re going to have to be very careful with how we rotate these guys over the coming weeks and months. Obviously it goes without saying that they’re all “injured” for any international call ups.

Palaces goal had nothing to do with Partey covering spaces and more to do Odegaard+Kai pressing as a two with Jesus as a forward, one of them had to drop back.
