Deep Energy Retrofit DD #34

This presentation will walk you through a deep energy retrofit project that was recently completed on a 1953 home in Penticton. The goals of the project were to use advanced building technology to help reduce costs, wastes and in-efficiencies often associated with major retrofits to achieve the BC Energy Step Code 5 while retaining as much of the original structure as possible. At the same time making sure that decarbonization, climate passive survivability, and indoor environmental quality were prioritized. Brian is a Professor in the Sustainable Building Technology program at Okanagan College and as well as a sustainable design consultant assisting local governments, NGO’s, and international aid agencies with renewable resource engineering and sustainable building initiatives.
