One of the best car repair videos I've seen. A little less talk, a lot more action. Perfect man's video. However, let's be real here gentlemen... if you live in any of the winter-road salt-ridden areas of the country, those last bolts may not come off that easy. I tried an impact wrench with supposedly 1000+ ft. lbs. of reverse torque and that last bolt would not budge on a 2002 Focus. Ended up using two 24 in. breaker bars to break it loose. One on top, tied to other parts to keep it from turning, and one on bottom with an additional 2 ft. pipe along with all the strength I could muster. Otherwise you may end up having to grind them off with a high-speed grinder.

Just changed both of mine. That you so much autodoc saved me over £150 on labour. Only thing I could find was hard to do was the tightness of the bolts.

And regarding tracking rod I did move it had to because it is really hard to get the wishbone back into place.

Great video! This works for the Volvo S40/V50 as well. Others remove the wheel axle bolt. I like that you didn't have to remove it.

Very easy to follow. Interesting to see if I can do it in 9 minutes!. Funnily enough last time garage did this they quoted over an hours labour

Great video. Seeing as he has the replacement part in his hand, it wasn't ordered from Autodoc.

Goodbye Haynes manual and hello Autodoc! By far, this has to be the best video tutorial for performing mechanical work on a car! The attention to detail is second to none. Sincerely, a great job. Just one question...what is the official name of that 'special puller' so that I can look to buy one?

I've got the same car but at 3.30 on the front wishbone bolt he's got a clear view, I don't, there's a pulley in front of mine and had to loosen the cover to get the bolt out....and only just cleared it. It'll be bloody tricky getting it back in with the new arm on.

You don’t need to disconnect the track rod end.

How much you pushed that arm up before tightening that front bush?

Great tutorials these, but i would have certainly cleaned up those threads from rust before undoing and putting back in. the rust on top of that track rod end thread before you undid it made that nut hard to come off, even with the air gun. nice demo tho. cheers.

A garage failed my MOT today and was going to charge me 3 hours labor for both sides! After watching this, I think not!

Just done this on may car. It is much harder than the video shows, especially if you have rusty bolts to contend with. Also on my car (2.0 Titanium petrol) you need to remove the cover on the aircon pump otherwise you cannot get the front bolt out from the driver side arm. Also the Undertray needs to come off first, and those rear bolts can be a PITA to line up.

just a quick question, why do you tighten the bolt then jack it up then tighten again.
