Great review! I recently converted one of my acoustic kits to an e-kit and used the Triggera V2's. And yes, I spend a lot of time adjusting the settings in my module. I have a Roland TD-12 Module and started from scratch, because all the "pre-settings" where pretty much useless. Luckily I found a lot of information about trigger settings on this channel and got it to work properly, fitting my needs. So, thank you for that! :)

Your results match mine. I'm using a few V2 triggers on my toms and even my kick and they work fine with a TD-25 module. I bought the V3 for a snare conversion, and the breather hole was way too small and close to the head, so I drilled a new hole altogether. I won't be using this as an acoustic snare again, so don't mind too much. As for the triggering, at this point I prefer center-mount cone triggers. I'd stick with using it on toms. Next time I'll try something different. That said, still using V2 on my toms with great success, and recommend them, I'd recommend the V3 for toms as well if you don't mind drilling.

I can personally recommend the Triggera stuff and UFO Drums triggers. I have the Triggera V2's and have excellent results on my Pearl Mimic Pro (and also when I had a Roland TD-50). I don't like the V3 design where you have to "put it together" yourself, although the air vent input is a nice touch. The V1/V2 design with everything already mounted is more appealing in my opinion. I lucked out on my kit, as I'm using the Pearl ePro shell pack which already has input jack built-in to the shell.

Great video! I've been using Triggera for years with my Yamaha DTX502 . I guess I have the V2's. I'll stick with those as I'm not going to mess around with my vintage Tama's and they've been working fine all this time. I have the Intriggs, Bix's (for the bass drum), and the crash and splash. Anytime I've had an issue (piezo issue's on the cymbals) Vukan has provided excellent support.

I bought 4 Intrigg V3's a month ago and two of them are broken now. The Piezo wires break very easily and customer service really sucked. Also a huge chunk of the lower cone was carved out for the wires that caused the cone to tilt when under pressure.

Great review, I totally concur with the difficulty installing this unit on a generic Taiwanese steel shelled Snare drum. I had to drill the air hole significantly to get the Jack mount thread through the shell. Then when I put the heads on, there was no clearance to get the Jack in past the hoop. So I had to take it off again and build up some clearance from the shell with some thick rubber washers. Then the wires fell out of the connection block during playing, so I had to reattach them and put latex glue in the connector holes to insulate and hold them from vibrations. Although it works well I must say I’ll go the Jobecky route for future conversions.

2 millimeters? You use the metric system? (I am from Europe, that caught me off guard :)

You can heat up the wire insulation with a lighter then strip back what you need to with your thumbnail. I have proper wire strippers, but sometimes, with thinner wire, the lighter trick works better anyway. Thanks for the great work on your channel.

They seem very nice for the price! Did you get a change to check out the Triggera Krigg? I’m debating on going the Krigg route for my a2e conversion.

Hi Justin, France under containment here... Very interesting review, as usual. If I may ask, as I also own a TD30 running a diy triggered Tama Hyperdrive, what settings did you use to make this trigger perfectly work ? Thanks in advance.

GoEdrum has a very similar diy trigger, I use it on my snare and have gotten really nice result from for under $30

i wish i could have as good results as you were, i've been having to spend a lot of time on my drumit3 to get a good trigger result. i've had to line the inside my shells with studio foam to not get any double triggering, and no matter what i cannot achieve an isolated rim zone, and installation is definitely not the easiest, and on top of that one of my triggers broke within 20 minutes of playing it, the wire going to the head piezo snapped, there was hardly any tension on it. so far i'm kind of regretting them and wish i just tried something diy at this point.

any pros compared to the jobeky side mounted trigger? that one is also inexpensive, has good triggering but its way easier to install
thanks for the video!

Hello! Great, great videos. Thanks for these. Is it possible to give a hint about the pad settings in the module? I have problems with pad settings...
