ZINC, Like Copper, a Lifetime Roofing Product

Gary talks about the longevity of Zinc for Roofing. Here on an Estate Home in Austin Texas, he shows the application of zinc over the stone and the use of zinc as a custom blind valley.

What is a blind valley? Roofs often have low areas where water gathers from a pitched roof above, they are usually not seen from the ground so they are called blind valleys. In this photo, you notice the standing seam metal roof panels die into a blind valley that is behind the curved entry wall. Prior to reroofing a few months ago, this area had leaked for years doing extensive damage to the walls of the house so we recommended upgrading the blind valley to a soldered, flat pan zinc system that will last for generations.

You will notice the zinc on top of the wall by its natural zinc color but the blind valley behind the wall that carries the water around the entry wall and to the sides is also zinc. It is installed to allow expansion and contraction without breaking the seal of the solder, a timeless and traditional roofing technique. The blind valley was then painted to match the McElroy Kynar Coated metal roof.

you take forever to say so little.

something you can do to fix this is to write out a script ahead of time

another thing you can do is to write out a transcript of this video and then look to see where you are saying the same thing many times, when you are saying something irrelevant, or when you you see that something could have been said more concisely. Then you can know what to avoid for future videos.
