Gold jewelry is not cheap! Don't buy cheap jewelry! I wanted to make a video showing different chain styles that I recommend not buying for long term wear. They might seem like a good idea initially but you have to think about long term. Thanks for watching!

Got a 6mm 14k rope from jacoje at 22" about 2-3 years ago. Thing still looks new and that shine is still crazy. Went to get it authenticated jeweler said I got a hell of a deal and was so impressed with the quality. Never shopping anywhere else for my jewelry 💪💪💪

In the 90’s when I was in high school, gold was around $500/oz so LOTS of people had gold chains. I never saw 1 herringbone that held up long-term. They didn’t break, but like you said, they always ended up with dents/bumps/bends. Every chain gets banged up if you wear it daily, but with the herringbones it is obvious. As for hollow chains, they should not even exist.

Back in the day I used to wear a 12 MM curb with the white gold plating down the middle. They called them "white pave" back in the day. The bail on my cross pulled off all the white plating in 6 months. The texture was still there, but the white part was gone. Good info here!

I bought a Jacoje Tri Color 6mm / 26” rope chain, it belongs in a museum because of how beautiful it looks!

I bought my 1st chain from a local jeweler. Charged me more for a 20’ 3mm 10K rope than Jacoje 22’ 4mm 14k Franco

I’ve bought 4 chains from Braden, they all kick ass and haven’t had any issues.

I agree 100%, Hollow or plated is just not a long term thing. Herringbone looks really good but there is no way it will lay right over time. Its good you point that out so there are no disappointments.

Never understood the point of white gold. Gold that looks like silver lmao. Kinda defeats the point of buying GOLD.

Been wearing my 5mm tricolor rope everyday since the day I got it. A much needed switch up in the collection 👌🏼

My mother has a rope chain. Over 20 inches, not hallow, and is over 40 years old. Even my local jewelers are shocked at its condition. My mom wears is everyday.

I have a two tone 14k solid cuban and I wear it everyday. I’ve owned it for around 3-4 years and I haven’t noticed any fading as of yet.

I have the Saint Franco prism 6.5mm 22” and have a pendant on it about 70 grams - I don’t wear it everyday day as it’s very showy, but when I wear it I get a bunch of compliments. Had it for a little lover a year and a half and no issues.

I have a hollow rope chain10k gold 6mm and I wear it almost everyday maybe mostly on the weekends and parties, I even bought a Pendant for it and the Pendant is solid I would say kind of heavy for it, but is holding up real good, the chain is still intact since the first day I even get compliments for it, I think I have had it for almost a year now and it is still in good shape. For I think 600 bucks I can't complain

Hi Braden,

Absolutely love this tutorial video and love the fact Jacoje sells only SOLID chains at 14k+ purity, and all at very reasonable prices per gram! It's a pleasure supporting you guys and knowing we're getting the best quality out there from a business that cares. Jacoje rocks! 🔥

My first chain was a herringbone chain back in the 80s in middle school. In high school I started working and bought a Turkish link and a diamond cut rope chain. In 95 I bought a 100gr rope and a few yrs later around 2001 I got a 250 gram handmade Cuban link chain. Then I got a bezentine then a franco. Out of all the chains I had my Cuban never went out of style. You can’t go wrong with a Cuban in my opinion. Now back in the mid 90s till about 2005 I was paying 8.00 a gram for 14k and 10.00 for 18k over 100 grams. Now it’s super high. I still have a Cuban but it’s only 150 grams.

Another awesome honest upfront video. That is what I like about you guys. I agree with you on the hollow rope chains. I had a very bad experience with one back in the 80s. Thanks for sharing your awesome honest videos. Stay well & safe guys.

Great video. Im a white gold girl...and I use to love a good herringbone, its a nice staple to a girls jewelry collection, but yes the dent and bends in them made it hard to choose another once i gave mine away as a gold scrap
