Seal melamine cabinets against water damage.

This video shows you one way to help seal melamine cabinets against water damage.
Melamine can be a great product for cabinet making. Unfortunately, if it gets wet and stays wet for any length of time it can fall apart and be totally useless. Once it gets wet and expands it can be totally ruined.

I'm showing what I am doing to seal the bottom legs of my melamine cabinets to hopefully prevent future water damage.

Paint Will Not stop water from seeping into mdf board. I would use a product such as or like liquid nails and rub it into the product with fingers- wiping it off if it comes onto the finished face of sheet good. Allow to cure out for 16 hours and then it will be water proof and ready to set into place.

I'm making a piece that will hug the railing of this lady's deck so it's a larger area to eat at or mix drinks or whatever. Does white Melamine stand up to drink rings or if it gets a little wet (if it's sealed) or should I use pine and paint and seal it? Any knowledge would be greatly appreciated.

That wasn't any help until you tell us what kind of paint. Will Thompson's waterproofing work?

What about using Tricoya mdf for cabinet carcasses? It's fully waterproof.
