"Cat stares are usually harmless."

"Usually."

Cats stare because they are studying us and learning. Explains why cabinet doors get opened up after they watch us opening them.

When they stare at us, they're channelling their inner tiger, contemplating having us for a snack. 😁

Finally! Straight to the point, no weird intro and funny music, no "ring the bell", no ads (but you do deserve to be monitized so I can live with that), no "check out my other videos, no coffee cups and tote bags for low low prices, no "get on with it" padding! Subscribed!! Thank you!

My Lizzie found a spot to sit high up. Then she watches me clean, walk around, prepare a meal, ect. I'm her tv program. Lol 😆

The slow blinking works. I do it with my cat and others: it's a sign of friendship, like a handshake--I'm not a threat.

My cat used to keep an eye on me all the time watching out for me to pounce and cover her in kisses and loads of sweeeezies!

I had a knee op a few years ago and a limp for a few months, both my cats developed a limp, I believe the term would be ' copycats '.

I always assume that when cats stares at me, they want their bellies huffed. I always oblige.

My cat is always staring at me when I'm in my recliner like she wants to come up with me. 2/10 times she does.

I've spent decades rescuing cats and living with many of them. Cat blinks do not signify "love". Cats blink to signal that they are not offering a threat. I was taught this by a very aggressive feral cat, Katie, who I rescued and lived with for fourteen years. I spent much time setting traps to catch cats which needed help but were unsociable. If any of these cats made eye contact with me as I watched the traps, I blinked as Katie taught me to, and this put the unsociable cats at ease so they disregarded me. I was a very successful cat trapper. This work was done on behalf of animal welfare and rescue groups.

Their eyes work differently than ours. That’s another reason they stare. Cats do not have to blink nearly as often as humans.

I have 3 cats, which are born in my living room.
They are 5 years old now.
They are the most sweet creatures you can imagine.
Important is to have regularity.
Then they know what to expect from you.
We have our "morning rituals" and "going to bed rituals" every day.
And they all know their role in it.

I discovered my 10 week old kitten girl camped out on the far edge-tip on the back of my couch, behind a back cushion, with only the upper half of her face showing. Her eyes were fixed on me and she wasn’t moving. Not even after I started staring back and talking to her. Prior to finding her she’d been staring at the back of my head. 😂. It was eerie having a small kitten in that mode. 😂😂😂. A cat I had that has since passed on (16 years old), used to tummy-crawl stalk me from room to room. I had no idea. A family member saw it and told me. 😂

There at 0:36, "Cat stares are usually harmless and not a cause for concern", sure has a similar feel to, "The appearance of alien motherships is usually harmless and not a cause for concern." 😉

Also, cats don't have to blink as much as humans do.

My cats are very vocal. I know what each meow means. Sometimes it's for attention, food, anger, excited/playful. Same with their body language. If you're really in tune with your babies then you know exactly what they want and what's going on.
