"Not strong enough to hurt themselves" some of us will always find a way.

I do deadlifts as an ambulatory wheelchair user, with a connective tissue disorder. My deadlifts are 5lbs, more than that dislocates my shoulders and wrists, but it’s more than I could do last year, so I’m happy.

Edit: I’m at 6lbs now!!

Edit again because people asked, I’m up to 7lbs! Having a lot less wrist dislocations now, which helps so much when I’m using my chair!

He said "not strong enough to hurt themselves" and with that, a star was born.

This guy has the absolute perfect voice for narrating, voice acting, and commercial ads.

I once fell just by standing in place. Never underestimate my power to decimate myself.

"Most people are so weak, they're not strong enough to hurt themselves." I find this strangely comforting

I appreciate the emphasis on safety in your videos. Deadlifts can be so beneficial when done right, but so risky if done wrong.

Deadlifts are also very practical lifts because picking heavy things up is something people do very often whether it's a couch, grocery bags, or kids, so having the strength and technique to do that safely is really important

I‘m a usual listener but l never like or comment but boy what a great valuable episode, I even subscribed, I applied in the past all the tips and tricks to look confident it worked for a period but when a hard moment hits my true colors shows, this taught me not to focus on the appearances but rather become the person I want to show up as. Thank you Steve and all the podcast team ❤

This man was genuinely captivating, no ego, just pure and simple guidance, once again one of the strongest being one of the kindest to beginners.
Props to you sir.

I’ll always remember that one giant, riped off dude, just came to me and gave me and 30-40 seconds advice, completely changed the exercice for the better.

I've been a ballet dancer, massage therapist, and a nurse... Can confirm most people hurt themselves doing the most uneventful thing... Like getting out of bed in the morning, Walking on uneven pavement, etc. i have dance half of my life, and have never tore anything... My worst injury was a torn ankle ligament when i fell getting into my house🤦‍♀️ years after i stopped dancing.

I was lucky to attend University where Dr. Mike teaches. His Excercise Science program has put out some seriosuly strong and intelligent men and women. Dr. Mike has quite the brain to match the brawn. Glad to see his literature and evidence finally get more attention on various platforms.

I agree with this dude 99.8%

The other 0.2% was me, an experienced weightlifter since nearly 7years, popping a disc while putting on my shoes 🤣

When Dr Mike is not telling stupid jokes or being weirdly inappropriate, he is spitting some serious info, and knows his biz.

Ok, why do I love this guy's voice so much? The way he presents the problems and his arguments is just so clean and chill
