I am always impressed by the overall quality of your videos. From a lot of the crazy things you do people may think it's click bait, but you continue to deliver high-quality content about interesting subjects.

As you stated in the video, it's really cool to see an abandoned property that isn't destroyed due to scrappers and people, but instead is being decayed by nature. That's a rare sight.

Despite nature taking over, this is probably one of the best preserved abandoned sites you'll ever see. Thanks to being an island, its naturally protected from vandals and the only people who go there have been very respectful to the now fragile structures. Its a refreshing sight for sure after exploring so many abandoned industrial sites that kids just trash.

1999 was 18 years ago, that's the craziest thing if you ask me...

The way you mixed together the audio of discovery island and you intro plus the footage you put in the beginning was truly brilliant. Keep up the great work

It’s so pathetic these huge companies don’t clean up their mess when no longer using something

honestly, Disney should install cameras on the island to record the decay naturally and splice that with the footage of the explorations of the past together and turn it into a documentary for quick money

They should turn it into a Indiana Jones themed attraction where you get a map and have to follow it to various locations to find clues leading to Indy and the ark of the covenant

I cant help but think of Jurassic park. The return to the original park's remains in Jurassic World is what this reminds me of. Come to think of it, more or less a similar amount of time. between Jurassic Park and Jurassic World is 25 years. this is 18, getting very close to 20

Jesus 18 years... I feel like an old man. :( I remember going here in the 90's with my wife when we were in our early 20's. I doesn't even feel that long ago.

dinosaurs evolved into birds, birds were left on the island, birds devolved, dinosaurs now roam the give you Jurassic park 12, the dinosaurs devolved!

No wonder the man who lived on this island long before WDW was built never wanted to give it up. It's both eerie and beautiful at the same time. We met a castmember once who told us that before any of the parks or resorts were built, she and her family would camp on the edge of what is now Bay Lake. I wonder if they ever noticed the island back then?

I'm quite impressed that birdge in the aviary is still standing after so long with no maintenance. It's builders built it to last, even if the rest of the island wasn't.

Anyway thanks for bringing Matts' video to my attention! Off to watch it now.

When I was in Walt Disney World staying at fort wilderness in June 2017 I asked he ferry driver/assistant if anyone has every gotten on the island (knowing they have but seeing what he would say). He said yes but the people on the island that are caught have their picture taken and are instantly banned from every and any Disney park in the world. I was shocked that he actually acknowledged me and talked to me about it

I still have my ticket to Treasure Island before it was Discovery Island. It is bright yellow and very cool.
