Mountain Soap FAIL, Alpine Frost SUCCESS!!!! How to Make Soap with Recipe!

In this episode of how to make soap, I started out making a mountain landscape canola oil and lard soap. The soap was very runny and did not set up like I had hoped to make for my mountain landscape soap. It did turn out a very pretty swirl!

This is similar to the recipe I used. (I forgot to write it down. :-) I think it would be great for swirling soap but not for piping or landscapes. This recipe is for a smaller batch than what I made on this show so you can try it out.

9.12 oz. Distilled Water
3.51 oz. Lye

7.20 oz. Coconut Oil
7.20 oz.Canola Oil
7.20 oz. Lard
2.40 oz. Palm Kernel Flakes

38% Water
5% Superfat

Do you prefer 76° or 92° coconut oil? I'm pretty new to soap making only been making soap the past couple of months and have asked several soap makers but no response. I will completely understand if you also do not respond. lol This was a beautiful soap as well I love the colors & swirl your an awesome teacher!😊

if I wanted to omit the lard. do I just increase the rest of the ingredients. I am really interested in what you said about cocoanut oil. what causes it to dry the skin. I thought it would moisturise. many thanks

do you use your stick blender, spatulas and spoons for food after you soap? I used my stick blender for soap and am now terrified to use it for anything else because of what I've heard from other soapers
