It’s really nice to see how much more confident you guys seem to be while recording now😊

This is the kind of information new and early painters need to hear! Heck yeah!

This has helped me alot, just establishing healthy expectations so you feel comfortable painting at all levels.

I am baffled by the low view counts on your videos - all of them are gold.
Your chemistry is contagious
The quality of the editing is rad
The delivery is spot on
The jokes are landing
And I am rooting for you to succed since last year

Something must be done

Love the video. Would love to see if you could dive into the topic of managing your own expectations. at work i spend a lot of time making sure managers know what to expect, yet when i comes to being creative my ideas outpace what im able to achieve. Ive seen many other comments about this and curious if theres any ways you combat this negative part of the creative process.

I love this level of positive video of Yours that basically said "you are the best, whatever you do, at least it's good for you".

I'm that person who overhype in most of my projects, and often, when I realize that I'm mad at myself, that I do it again. The only solution for this I found is to leave the current project, do something simple, and then go back when the hype is back. That led to painting the 2k point army the whole year, but that's another problem without solution 😉

Good video guys, I think people struggle to find their standard because it changes over time. And the longer your in the hobby the harder most people are on themselves.

Nice one guys & I saw a lot of my own struggles in this video, I paint troops just to get them done as they are a requirement for the game, vehicles I do " character level" & my scale models do "Showcase level" Ironicly they do end up in a showcase. I know all too well about over hyping yourself of a project only to feel disappointed or empty after its completion, knowing the time, money & skill invested.

Needed to hear this for me personally so thank you

Great video. Your breakdown defines how I feel when I approach parts of my army. The Lion has been waiting for me to gain the courage I need to tackle another showcase model.

I paint most of my minis to a good standard. For squads I try not to get too bogged down in details and highlighting.

When I need a break I paint a single mini to a higher standard. My Red Corsair Chaos Marines are an example of this. I have painted them in the color of the chapter/legion each marine has come from. At this time I have about 30 minis painted. All have unique color schemes. Many are in colors I don't often paint. I like experimenting with new techniques with these. For example, my Alpha Legion marine has a blue-green color shift depending on the amount of light that I created with layered inks. My Noise Marine has leopard spots in purple and pink on one plate and blue zebra stripes on yellow on another. I learned flame painting techniques for the Master of Possession.

My Red Corsairs allow me to find story in each model. They are my special treat. Many are converted (another aspect of the hobby that I love). I sometimes take them out just to admire my work and take satisfaction in their coolness. Watching videos like yours to learn more about painting has been really helpful. Thanks.

As an old man coming back to the hobby I struggled to find tabletop ready. I just wanted to get some models on the board so I could play with my son. Think I found a good spot for Tyranids, but I feel like all my Space Marines keep going to character level. Still working on that balance so I don’t exhaust myself painting a ton of models, when all I want is something relaxing. Thanks for the video, and glad I’m not along trying to find the right balance.

Great video! This is a subject that i struggle with constantly. Painting up deathguard and i took way too long painting poxwalkers and plague marines, edging into that character level, finally settled down and let effect paints handle to workload on battleline troops so i couls get to my character models.
Keep up the awesome videos!

Agree with everything in this video, sometimes you just need to give yourself permission to stop.

Frequent Violent outbursts help! But never throw the minis! 😉

Great video and a hard question to answer a lot of the time. I have found out that my finished models are a little above table top standard. I had one squad left to paint for a tournament and it took me days longer than it should have, just finishing them the night before!

I would love to see a "ways to level up your painting" or some sort of a part two to this video here.

This is a great video! A friend of mine very recently took the plunge and got into 40k and is struggling a bit with accepting that his paintjobs won't immediately look like those on Insta. I think I'll send him a link to this alongside the reminder to compare yourself to yourself.

I'm in this same trap tbh. Painted up a squad of grots: "ALL NMM, OSL, WE'RE GOING ALL THE WAY!! GOLDEN DEMON BABY!"

I only have 1 standard for my paintings.
