I sang with her once in the 80s. She was the loveliest person. RIP Sweet Sharon.

Today, May 1st, marks the 29th year of her passing away. I will always remember the day, I was doing a party for the Kentucky Derby and worked a musical tribute into my mix. RIP and may light perpetual continue shining on you! <3

The First Time I Heard This, I Was At A Club In The Ocean View Section Of Norfolk, VA Called Mingles. I Was In The Navy At That Time Aboard The USS Dwight D Eisenhower (CVN-69), And When The DJ Put It On, He Announced: "Here's Something New From NYC", And The Crowd Loved It! I Ran To The Record Store The Next Day, And Bought Two 12 Inch Copies! 🎧

BY the early 80's DISCO music was coming to an early exit.. giving way and branching into HOUSE music, , it was coming in STRONG. Using electronic drums and synthesizers taking the place of real strings and orchestral musicians, , it was New and you could accomplished lots of different sounds and create lots more using less.. but the DISCO flavors where still there and very active, , DISCO never died, it just expanded into a lot of different and more heavier sounds....

I wish more people realized there was more to 80s music than Michael Jackson.  Love this song

She performed in a club called Hollywood, in Eindhoven, Netherlands. I was standing next to the stage, within half a meter of her. While she was singing, she looked at me. It felt special ...

Sharon Redd was one of Bette Midler's Harlettes. Love this song by Sharon. Elbow room only on the dance floor when this played. 👍🆒😊

Sharon was a background singer for Bette Mildler and background vocalist, most notably with the group Soirée, which also included among its members Luther Vandross and Jocelyn Brown. Traveling around the world in various productions.1979, Redd recorded the disco hit "Love Insurance, "Beat the Street, " "In the Name of Love, " and "Love How You Feel followed! Sadly Redd died of pneumonia in, 1992. Reportedly that her death was AIDS-related. What good music memories R.I.P.
