That’s exactly what I use for everything. From removing sticky labels to grease on my stove. It really works

Thank you, Tanner, for taking the time to share this video. I waited til I turned 50 (which was last year) to develop a love for crafting and I was surprised-ly blessed with a cricut maker from my sister-n-law and husband and need to know all there is to know about it. I have subscribed to your channel and am looking forward to taking the e-course cause I hear this machine can do more than what our minds can think. Thank you again.

I just did two of them (super old) by the way. I just bought new ones but I came across this video and I wanted to give it a try-since mine were already DONE. If only I could show you how clean and sticky they are; I’m just so excited, now I don’t have to open my new one. Mine are the green ones. Thank you so much.

you can always use repositional adhesive spray to make the mats sticky again. remember to cover the edges of the mat before you spray it.

This worked like the biggest treat. I am from the UK so used a all purpose surface cleaner (from Asda) 🇬🇧

I found that using SCOTCH BRITE 50% STICKIER lint roller sheets work the best. I take the roll off the handle and just roll it over the mat by hand. You can use the cheapo ones from the dollar store, but you get what you pay for. Don't forget to clean the clear plastic protective sheet too...it gets mucky also.

I just got my Cricut Maker about 2 weeks ago and absolutely love it. However buying new mats is not my top priority as I have 4 boys 11 and under and they need a lot of stuff. So I went to the dollar tree and got the LA's Totally Awesome and tried it (for all those complaining why complain when you would have had to buy a new mat if you didn't try it anyway) and IT WORKED GREAT. My mat is still drying all the way but almost everything came off of it and you can already tell it is still sticky. I didn't leave it on for 10 mins though i only left it on for 8. I also bought some Aleene's Tacky glue just incase the sticky part had come off so I have that for future use if i ever need it. Thank You thank you thank you and i will be watching more of your videos.

I’ve done this and even if my mats lost the sticky it was easy to put the sticky back on, ... but also for people wanting to save money, Cricut’s are plotters, 12x12 plotter mats are cheap on amazon for sets of 4- they are labeled too for cricut or silhouette, I’ve used many off brands and was happy and saved money on mats. I never throw mats out, I never have a problem, so passing it on so you too can save aNd be happy with your plotter tools.

I have the newer fabric grip mats and I was worried to do this after reading some comments. But it actually worked great. I did it in the sink: spray, run water, light circles with a veggie cleaning brush from the dollar store. It all came right off... I tried just dish soap and warm water previously and it did hardly anything. I use the mats for felt and the stickiness that remained isn’t as it was brand new, but significantly better than the Cricut recommended method. I’m psyched!

Tanner - I have discovered that I can take my dirty mat to the kitchen sink put a few drops of Dawn dish soap on it & rub it around the my fingertips - no scraping needed if there is more heavier area needing cleaning I just add a couple more drops of dawn. I lightly rub with my fingertips for a few seconds, rinse them off . Time maybe 1 to 2 minutes max, let them dry then they are perfectly sticky & ready to use or put the clear cover back on to store for next project. It works great.

I was told by a woman who runs a Cricut group that the company informed her that using Totally Awesome, and other cleaners, could void the Maker’s warranty. I did want to risk this, but finally decided to try cleaning the mat like so many others do. I was able to scrape away build up immediately using the large Cricut scraper. Some of the mat also came up, but not in large areas. This is with the blue mat. The mat became sticky again once dry. It is not as sticky as it previously was, though it still holds down the vinyl in most areas. Once the stick is gone I am going to try spraying the mat with adhesive spray, as many have suggested. For now I will use painter’s tape when needed before opening and using another mat.

Just got my Cricut and I am soooo happy with it. I was happy to find you too! So thank you for this tutorial. I use velvet and my matt is covered in it's fuzz! I will have to try this. In reading some of the other comments, it looks as though it works for some and not others. Alas, I guess I will have to chance it, as it is now so covered in velvet fuzz. Thanks! 😍💓💕🐇💓💕

I've used regular dish soap and a scrubby backed dish cloth...works great!

I usually remove the adhesive with goo gone, then restick with Ailene's tack it over and over re-positional fabric glue mixed with a little water. But id like to try this.

Halo Tanner! I’m so new with all projects, I just purchased the Cricut and I’m so excited to start working. I’m very interested on all your videos. You seem to have lots of patience and it helps so much. 🤗

I just tried this. After reading the comments I decided to lightly mist my mats with LA’s awesome cleaner and only leave on for 2-3 minutes. The 5 mats I tried this on are like brand new.
I will try the baby wipe and dawn soap methods next

This stuff works on almost everything. 2 years ago we were told about it, when a friend noticed paint splatter on the side of our truck. we used a little of it on there and it came off with out damaging the paint. I swear I need to invest in stock on that company.

I love Awesome cleaner, especially the price, but it's meant to be diluted. At full strength it removes spray paint from Michaels store shelves, which is how I learned about it in the first place. As another person commented, Awesome is meant to be diluted 10:1 for general use; I never need it more concentrated than 4:1 even for the worst mess.
