I have looked up a lot of articles on hand feeding baby birds and there is much much more to it.
If it is done incorrectly you can damage the bird on the inside very easily and if the bird is not supported around its body and feet in the first 3 weeks while hand feeding it can seriously damage the bird, and you can also damage the bird psychologically in the long run if done an incorrect transfer from hand feeding to solid food. The bird is very sensitive in the first half-year of its life. I recommend pay a professional bird breeder who is up with the most recent science on hand feeding baby birds. The avian vet's get too many cases from wrong hand feeding baby birds. Do not do it yourself, too many things can go wrong. and you will be heartbroken if you are the reason for causing pain and suffering to your bird, or in the worse case, killing your baby bird.
