Matty, I was given a research paper by my history teacher for college and I was thinking about doing something around the history present in Kingdom Come. Then I look on YouTube and you made a short history lesson about the history surounding the game . You have given me some great ideas for the paper. Thank you so much! :)

Dude. *START A HISTORY SERIES.*
(or lore series rather😂)

Seriously, when you do your research, you get shit done! This was so well put together, had lots of relevant information, kept on point, it was great! I'd *love* a Matty Lore series! "MrMattyExplains"?

Must not overhype. Must not overhype. Can't wait, but must not overhype. I have missed these complex style RPGs with consequences for doing quests and actually missing out on others.

The success of this game has the potential to redefine how are taught in school and universities around the world. Imagine learning subjects like history by actually living it by the use of historical accurate video games.

This is absolutely amazing! I come from the Czech Republic and the numbers of people who don't know where it is or that it even exists is truly horrible... So I'm so surprised that you've learnt all these information just because of this game :) great job! I hoped that it might spread the knowledge of our little country but this is so much better :) thank you for that 😊 (btw it's a bit weird to hear those names in English but I also must say that some of them must be really hard for foreign citizens :D you did well tho :) )

Amazing! thank you so much for this vid, I don't think many people outside of the visegrad countries are familiar with this.
Also, 1:48 is just about the coolest rendition of king Charles I have ever seen :D

You're forgetting the religious struggle of Jan Hus and the beginning of the Protestant revolution. Also the Fact that Bohemia was essentially the Capitol of the HRE

Some important sidenotes:
The "Roman Empire" or more often referred to as the "Holy Roman Empire" (HRE) or "Holy Roman Emire of german nations" has nothing to do with the Roman empire that once ruled the meditaranian sea and dominated the European, arabian and north African continent, even though the HRE saw itself as its successor, since the bible said that after the third or forth world dominating empire the world would ned. The Roman Empire was seen as the last one of those and so, after it was gone people thought that it had to still exist. That said, if you want to find out more about it you should search for the "Translatio Imperii"
Also its the early 15th. century not the 14th century. (14th century would have been from 1300-1400, 1403 is early 15th)
Btw. Sigismund is one of the most fascinating historical characters, from his wars with venice and the osman empire, over the Konztanzer Konzil (sry, I dont know the english name, I would guess its Conzil of Konstanz or smth.) and him ending the split in church with its three pope at the time to the whole story with Jan Hus and the hussite wars (ger: Hussitenkriege) wich have been called Crusades.

Hello from Bohemia.... er, Czechia ;) Very well researched and relevant. And +1 for discovering - unlike many other early reviewers - that Bohemia isn't Germany :D

correction: Charles IV was not 'creator' of entity called Lands of the Bohemian Crown. This link between Kingdom(Duchy before 1212) and other lands existed since 1Oth century. Junior members of Bohemia's royal dynasty(typically sons of the king) would rule other lands as vassals. And generally ruler of Bohemia had sovereignty over these lands.
(Charles IVth was-for example -margrave of Moravia during reign of his father John)

Charles IV just introduced written 'constitution' for this long established system that has already existed for 400 years prior Charles' rule.

Great video, thank you. This is one of the very few games that has actually got me interested to find out more about the period, the location and the characters.. Such an immersive game..

Very interesting time period, and I hope that the events leading up to the War of the Roses and Spanish Unification, two significant events in regards to the future of The Holy Roman Empire, are explores thoroughly. A ton of history to work with and from what I’ve seen it’s all been handled well and accurately.
